Hacettepe Üniversitesi Fen Fakültesi Biyoloji Bölümü’nden 2002 yılında mezun oldu. Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Histoloji ve Embriyoloji Anabilim Dalı'nda yüksek lisans eğitimini 2002 yılında, doktora eğitimini 2012 yılında tamamladı. Yüksek lisans tezinde gebeliğin belli evrelerinde normal ve diyabetik sıçan plasentasında hücre siklusu regülatörlerinin dağılımını inceledi. Yüksek lisansını bitirdikten sonra Norveç tarafından verilen araştırma bursu ile 11 ay süreyle Kanser Araştırmaları ve Moleküler Tıp Enstitüsü, Tıp Fakültesi, Norges Teknisk-Naturvitenskapelige Universitet (NTNU) çalıştı. Burada, preeklamptik plasentalar ve immün sistem ilişkisi üzerine çalışmalar yaptı. TÜBİTAK tarafından verilen 2214-Doktora öğrencileri için Yurt Dışı Araştırma Bursu kapsamında Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Cincinnati Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Cincinnati Çocuk Hastanesi, Üreme Biyolojisi Bölümü’nde fare uterusunda gebelik boyunca FKBP52 ile PRDX6 arasındaki etkileşimleri incelediği doktora tezi çalışmalarını gerçekleştirdi. Çalışma konuları arasında plasenta, uterus reseptivitesi, embriyo implantasyonu, inflamazomlar yer almaktadır. Çok sayıda uluslararası makalesi, bildirisi bulunmaktadır ve WOS’a göre h-indeksi 16’dır. Doçentliğini 2015 yılında, profesörlük ünvanını ise 2024 yılında almıştır. Halen Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Histoloji ve Embriyoloji Anabilim Dalı'nda çalışmaktadır. 

Dr. Gülkesen is a graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine (English program), and a specialist in Pathology. He holds a Master's degree in Medical Informatics from Akdeniz University and a PhD in Medical Informatics from METU (Middle East Technical University). In 2003, he worked as a visiting researcher for three months at the Department of Medical Informatics at Heidelberg University, and in 2017, he worked as a Senior Researcher for one year at the Peter L. Reichertz Institute for Medical Informatics in Germany. He served as a founding partner, Senior Data Analyst, and Systems Analyst at Myra Information Technologies, a technopark company. Dr. Gülkesen has also held national coordinator, researcher, and consultant roles in leading European and international projects, including the EU's Horizon 2020 and 7th Framework Programme. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as a consultant on a WHO project related to remote healthcare services. He also served as an assistant editor for nine years at the Journal of Medical Systems. Dr. Gülkesen has held various positions within the Medical Informatics Association, including President, and during this period, he chaired and served as congress secretary at two international and numerous national meetings. He teaches Biostatistics, Health Information Systems, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Electronic Health Records, and Artificial Intelligence courses in Medical Informatics graduate programs. Fluent in English, and with intermediate proficiency in German and Japanese, Dr. Gülkesen is also a Tai-chi and Qigong instructor.

Dr. Volkan Doğru is a board-certified colorectal surgeon with a primary focus on managing inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), particularly Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. He is highly experienced in both surgical and non-surgical approaches to IBD, as well as in treating other colorectal conditions like diverticulitis, colorectal cancer, anal fistula and hemorrhoidal disease. He is affiliated with Akdeniz University Hospital in Antalya, Turkey, where he holds key academic and leadership roles. Dr. Doğru is a Fellow of the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the European Board of Coloproctology, underscoring his expertise in the field. His recent work includes significant contributions to research, peer review, and teaching, with a dedicated focus on advancing IBD treatment and improving surgical outcomes.

Dr. El Asmar earned her MD degree from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in 1989 and she specialized in Occupational Medicine and Homeopathy at the USJ Faculty of Medicine- Beirut. She was awarded a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) with a focus on Assessment and Accreditation from Keele University in the UK in 2018. Dr. El Asmar played an essential role in the development and expansion of the medical school's curriculum. As one of the founding members, she has continually shown a deep dedication to improving medical education and the educational experience for students. She spearheaded the clinical skills thread in the medical curriculum and was instrumental in the creation of OSCE assessments. She assumed many leadership positions at the school and excelled as the Primary Care Clerkship Director and later on as the Director of Medicine Year II and Director of the Clinical Simulation Center that was reaccredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. In her capacity as co-chair of the Accreditation Steering Committee, Dr. El Asmar was essential to the accomplishment of our medical school's accreditation by TEPDAD in September 2021.Later on, she became one member of the TEPDAD team, and helped in the accreditation process of several schools in Lebanon and the MENA region. In 2023 she was appointed as the Acting Assistant Dean for Medical Education. Dr. El Asmar is passionate about medical education, particularly curriculum and simulation-based education. She earned a diploma in Clinical Simulation in 2019 and later taught it as an instructor. In 2017, she completed a simulation research primer with SIM-ONE Canada. In 2023, she earned a certificate in Scientific Research from the LAU Gilbert and Rose-Marie Chagoury School of Medicine, in collaboration with George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. In September 2025, she was appointed as Associate Professor of Medicine, Lebanese American University and Assistant Dean for Medical Education.

Effie Polyzogopoulou, is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
She was trained in Emergency Medicine in the United States at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital, NYC, USA.
She is the Chair of the Ultrasound Section at the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), Course Director in EUSEM Emergency Ultrasound pre-courses, Founder and Director of the National Emergency Ultrasound Courses for many years.
She is the director of the Emergency Medicine Supraspecialty Training Program at Attikon University Hospital in Athens, Greece, and Vice Chair of the University Emergency Department.
She is an Examiner in the European Board Examination in Emergency Medicine (EBEEM)and a member of the Emergency Medicine Examination Reference Group for Europe (EMERGE).
She is the Country Lead for Greece in the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM) Research Network.
She is a member of the Acute Heart Failure Committee of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC)- Heart Failure Association (HFA) (2020-2024).

Dr. Ozan Akca is a native of Turkey and received his initial medical education and residency training at the Istanbul University, School of Medicine. He completed residency in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine, also at the Istanbul University. Following his residency in 1996, Dr. Akca pursued a research fellowship at the University of Vienna, Austria, under the mentorship of esteemed outcomes researchers, Dr. Daniel I. Sessler and Dr. Andrea Kurz.
In the year 2000, Dr. Akca was invited to the United States, where he joined the University of California in San Francisco (UCSF) as an assistant adjunct professor. Subsequently, he became an assistant professor at the University of Louisville (UofL) in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Dr. Akca's responsibilities extended to being the Director of the Neuroscience ICU and the assistant Director of the Outcomes Research Institute. His dedication to the field led him to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA), with further certification in Neurocritical Care. Dr. Akca was assigned as the Vice Chair for Research. He rose to the ranks of Associate Professor in 2007 and eventually to Professor in 2015, culminating in his appointment as Professor Emeritus (2021) at UofL.
In 2021, Dr. Akca expanded his academic pursuits by joining the faculty of the Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care at Johns Hopkins University as a full professor. He contributes to the Neuro-anesthesia and Neurocritical Care Divisions at the Johns Hopkins. He also serves on the editorial boards of premier specialty and general medical journals, Anesthesia & Analgesia, Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, Balkan Medical Journal, and the Turkish Journal of Intensive Care.

Doç. Dr. Samir Cavadlı, Azerbaycan Tıp Üniversitesi Tıp ve Sağlık Bilimleri Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı Başkanıdır. Klinik mikrobiyoloji alanında uzman olup, mikrobiyoloji tanı, bakteriyoloji, parazitoloji, mikoloji ve özellikle tıp eğitimi, yetkinlik temelli eğitim modelleri (Competency-Based Medical Education), simülasyon destekli öğretim yöntemleri, yapılandırılmış klinik beceri değerlendirme sistemleri (OSCE/OSPI) ve sağlık meslekleri eğitiminde yenilikçi pedagojik yaklaşımlar üzerine çalışmaktadır.
Lisans öncesi tıp ve hemşirelik öğrencileri için klinik beceri eğitim programlarının geliştirilmesi ve uygulanması, eğitimde kalite güvencesi, öğretim üyesi gelişimi (faculty development) ve uluslararası standartlara uyumlu eğitim reformları alanlarında aktif rol almaktadır. Ulusal ve uluslararası akademik projelerde yer almakta, sağlık meslekleri eğitimi alanında multidisipliner araştırmalar yürütmektedir.
