Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing
- Authors are required to disclose the use of generative AI in the writing process when submitting their paper. This guidance applies strictly to the writing process and does not cover the use of AI tools for data analysis or deriving insights during the research.
- Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies should be used solely to enhance the readability and clarity of the manuscript.
- These technologies must be used under human supervision, with authors thoroughly reviewing and editing the output, as AI-generated content can sometimes appear credible while being inaccurate, incomplete, or biased. Authors bear full responsibility for the final content of their work.
- AI and AI-assisted technologies cannot be credited as an author or co-author, as authorship implies responsibilities that only humans can fulfill. As an example: Please read the generative AI policies of Elsevier Publishing.
Authors must declare their use of generative AI in the writing process by including a statement at the end of the manuscript upon submission. This statement will be included in the published version and should be placed in a new section before the references.
Guidelines for Tables and Figures
- Tables and figures must be formatted to fit within the page margins without exceeding them.
- Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and added inside the intended location in the paper.
- Titles of tables and figures should have only the first letter of the first word capitalized, except for proper nouns and abbreviations.
