Year 2018, Volume: 6 Issue: 6, 1031 - 1040, 02.12.2018

Abstract

Abstract

The
purpose of this study is to detect the tendency to procrastination and time
traps in employees, to investigate if there is a meaningful relationship
between procrastination behavior and time traps and, if there is a meaningful
relationship, to determine the impact of employee or work-based time traps on
procrastination behavior and to examine whether this behavior of employees has
a meaningful difference according to demographic factors. Therefore, using a
face-to-face survey method, the data have been obtained from 170 employees
working in a private company in Zonguldak. These data were evaluated by SPSS
and AMOS programs and analyzed with reliability, validity, frequency,
correlation, multiple regression, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests. As
a result of the analyzes; we drew a conclusion that time traps are an important
factor influencing procrastination in workplace and in particular,
employee-based time traps have a dominant impact on procrastination.
