WRITING GUIDELINES

General Writing Guidelines and Page Layout:
• The title should be consistent with the content, should not exceed 12 words, and should be written in capital letters. If the article has been presented at a scientific conference or produced from a postgraduate thesis, it should be linked to the title with an asterisk and placed at the bottom of the first page.
• The author's name should be written below the title.
• In order, the job title, institutional address, email information, and ORCID number should be linked to the surname with an asterisk and provided at the bottom of the first page.
• If a footnote is added to the title, two asterisks should be given to the name. If there is more than one author, this information should be written according to the author order.

• Submitted articles must include a Turkish (Abstract) and English (Abstract) summary of at least 200 and no more than 300 words, followed by 5-8 Turkish (Keywords) and English (Keywords) terms in descending order of specificity, and the Turkish and English titles. The abstract should not contain any references, figures, tables, notes, etc.
• The page layout of the articles to be added to the system must be done by the author and in accordance with the following values:
Paper Size: A4 Vertical
Font: Times New Roman
Font Size: 12 for the title, 12 for the text, 12 for quotations, 10 for abstracts and references
Line Spacing: 1.5 for the text, 1 for footnotes
• Manuscripts should not exceed 5000 words. Special fonts should not be used.
• Photographs included in the article should be submitted in high resolution (600 dpi / 2000–3000 px) and in a format suitable for printing.
• References should be made to visual material used in the text. Where a reference is made, it should be indicated in parentheses (Photo / Drawing / Figure 1, etc.) and the number of the relevant visual should be given. If references are made to more than one visual, the relevant numbers should be indicated, separated by a hyphen. (Photograph 1-2, etc.)
• The visual title should be written in bold and italics below the Photograph / Drawing / Figure / Table used in the article. This should be followed by a colon. For example: Photograph:
• Headings should be written in bold and capital letters. The use of subheadings in long articles is beneficial for the reader. It is recommended that main headings be numbered 1., 2., and subheadings be numbered 1.1., 1.2., 2.1., 2.2. Subheadings should be written in bold and lowercase letters.
• Expressions that need to be emphasised in the text should be shown in quotation marks; italics or bold characters should not be used.
• Direct quotations are given in quotation marks. When quotations exceed four lines, the block quotation method is used. Paragraph indents are written one tab in; block quotations are written two tabs in. The font size is not changed in block quotations; they are written in italics in 12-point font.
• The TDK Spelling Guide is used as a basis for spelling and punctuation.
• For works with multiple authors, authors must submit a statement of contribution ratio and a conflict of interest statement during the article submission process.
• When submitting an article, if the work has been supported by any institution, organisation or fund, this support must be clearly stated. Furthermore, if there are any individuals, institutions or organisations to whom acknowledgements are due, the relevant information must be clearly included in the article file.
• If artificial intelligence-based tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) were used during the article production process, the stages in which they were utilised must be clearly stated. This information must be provided during the article submission process. All responsibility regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence lies with the authors.
• For articles requiring Ethics Committee approval, such approval must be obtained and this approval (committee name, date and number) must be stated on the first page of the article and in the methods section. For research requiring Ethics Committee approval, please review the Journal's Ethical Principles and Publication Policy.
• The legal responsibility for articles published in the journal lies with the authors.

For a single editor, use the abbreviation ‘(Ed.)’ after the editor's name, followed by a full stop. For multiple editors, use the abbreviation ‘(Eds.)’ after the editors' names, followed by a full stop. If there are multiple editors, add the role once after all names.
Citations in parentheses: (Jackson, 2019; Sapolsky, 2017; Svendsen & Løber, 2020)
Narrative citations: Jackson (2019), Sapolsky (2017), and Svendsen and Løber (2020) Indicate the author, publication year, title, and publisher of the book. Use the same format for both printed books and e-books.
