| Description |
The Atatürk Culture Center was established on August 17, 1983, within the body of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language, and History, in accordance with Article 134 of the Constitution of the Republic of Türkiye and Law No. 2876. It was restructured on November 2, 2011, by the Decree Law No. 664. The Center functions as a cultural academy, conducting research, publications, promotion, encouragement, and awarding activities related to Turkish culture. It closely aligns with the priorities of the state and society. Since its establishment, the Atatürk Culture Center has published hundreds of works and organized numerous conferences and scientific meetings both domestically and abroad. It has also produced documentaries. Additionally, it has launched award-winning competitions in the fields of literature, art history, theater, painting, Turkish music, and communication, granting awards as incentives to those conducting research on Turkish culture. In addition to supporting smaller projects, the Atatürk Culture Center also conducts comprehensive international projects within the institution. Among these, the Common Literature of the Turkic World Project, which includes the History of Turkic World Literature, Encyclopedia of Turkic World Writers, Anthology of Intellectual and Literary Texts of the Turkic World, and the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Literary Terms and Concepts, has been completed, resulting in the publication of 31 volumes within the scope of this project. In the protection, appreciation, promotion, and transmission of our country’s cultural and natural heritage to future generations, scientific and cultural institutions bear great responsibilities. The Atatürk Culture Center, aware of this responsibility, will continue its activities in cooperation with other institutions. |
