Writing Rules
Articles to be sent to Artuklu Tourism Studies should be prepared according to the following rules.
1. Artuklu Tourism Studies is a refereed journal published twice a year. The publication languages are Turkish and English.
2. Articles to be sent to the journal should not have been published or sent for publication elsewhere. Articles should be between 6000-8000 words. This number includes the title, abstract, keywords, text, figures, words in tables and sources; however, the author contact address is not included.
3. Articles sent to the journal are evaluated by at least two referees. If at least two of the referees submit a positive report, the publication process for the studies is initiated.
4. The authors are responsible for the opinions expressed in the articles sent to the journal. The authors own the copyright of their works published in Artuklu Tourism Studies Journal and their works are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
5. In studies sent to the journal, in order to prevent plagiarism and irregular citations, the references should be disabled in the similarity report and the total similarity amount should not exceed 20%.
6. In articles that use measurement tools (survey, test, scale, interview, observation, picture, drawing, video, film, audio recording, etc.) that require Ethics Committee approval, an ethics report must be obtained from the University Ethics Committee. This report must be uploaded to the system as a separate file from where the article is uploaded. The responsibility in this regard belongs to the responsible author of the article. The ethics committee approval document must be uploaded as an additional file when the study is uploaded to the system. In addition, information regarding permission (board name, date and number) must be stated on the last page of the article and in the method section, indicating that ethical rules are followed. If the study is in the status of not requiring ethics committee approval, prepared using secondary sources, a Declaration Form stating that Ethics Committee Approval is Not Required must be filled out.
Text Format
Articles sent to Artuklu Tourism Studies must be prepared in accordance with the following rules in order to be processed immediately. Articles that do not meet the format requirements will not be processed.
Page Format
Article files should only be sent in Microsoft Word format.
Article Length
Articles should not exceed 8000 words. This article length includes the entire text, including the bibliography and any appendices.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be included in the text.
Tables and figures should be numbered within the text (for example, Table 2 or Figure 3).
Author Details
The names and institutions of all contributing authors should be included. Separate and correct e-mail accounts should be written for each author. ORCID ID should be added for all authors. In addition, the article information in the template should be filled in completely.
Main sections that should be included in the article to be sent to the journal:
Title of the Article: The title should not exceed 12 words. The English title should also be provided.
Abstract: Each article should include a Turkish and English abstract of at least 100 and at most 200 words, including the purpose, method and results of the study.
Keywords: The number of keywords should be limited to at least 5 words in both the Turkish and English abstracts. The first keyword should be the name of the main branch of science.
Introduction: A general summary of the research should be made and the main purpose of the research should be explained in the last paragraph.
Conceptual Framework: In this section, if necessary, the relevant concepts should be summarized without repeating the literature, and if such a situation is not the case, an evaluation should be made in the context of the results, oversights or contributions of previous studies related to the study without repeating them. If necessary, this section can be combined with the introduction. In this section, it is essential to present the problem that led to the research.
Method: The analyses that will provide the most appropriate solution to the research problem presented in the introduction and literature sections should be used. The most important point here is to include even the smallest details such as the universe, sample, scale creation, research date, duration, etc. included in the method without skipping.
Findings: Research questions or hypotheses should be evaluated here. While making these evaluations, you can use figures, graphs or tables, not exceeding six in number.
Conclusion, Discussion and Suggestions: The general results of the research are clearly stated. It is necessary to avoid repeating the research findings with the same or different sentences. Comparisons should be made with previous research for discussion. Applicable suggestions should be made based on the results.
References: The sources used in the study are listed completely and only with the sources used in the text should be shown on condition that the source is included.
Reference Methods
References should be given in alphabetical order according to the authors' surnames. A single list should be created without any classification for the sources. In the references to be made to the works in the text, the authors' surnames and publication date should be used.
In the references to be made to the works with more than three authors in the text, all names should be written in the first reference, and in the subsequent references, only the surname of the first author should be written and the following should be indicated as (et al.,).
If more than one work is cited in parentheses in the middle of a sentence or at the end of a sentence, it should be cited in alphabetical order.
If the sources are directly quoted in the text, the page number must be given when citing the source.
Tables, graphics and figures in the text should be created in a justified manner in the text area. Table, graph and figure titles should be written in bold.
