Writing Principles

Article Preparation
Language: The language of the journal is Turkish, Arabic and English.
Article Types: The journal publishes Research Articles, Translation Articles and Book Reviews.
Article Format: MS Word Template
Image Format: JPEG Minimum 300 dpi
Citation Style: ISNAD Citation System
Author Change: Only processed before the manuscript is accepted. Authors should carefully review the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the final author list at the time of original submission.

2. For article submission, please fill in the information in the file named "Title Page" completely and upload it to the system (Click for Title Page).
3. In order to submit an article to our journal, you need to download the copyright form, fill and sign the form and upload it to the system. (Click for Copyright Form).
4. ISNAD Footnote Citation System (2nd Edition) should be taken as basis for footnote and bibliography notation in articles.
5. Manuscripts submitted to Artuklu Akademi journal should be written in Word format with Book Antiqua font in 10 font size and justified with 1.15 line spacing. Headings should be written in bold/bold. Footnotes should be written in 7 font size, justified and hanging by 0.4.
6. Page layout; A4 size, margins should be set as 3 cm from the top, 2 cm from the left, right and bottom.
7. The word count of articles should be at least 5,000 and at most 8,000, excluding references. Book reviews should be at least 1000 words.
8. Articles should include a short abstract of 100-150 words in English and Turkish and an extended abstract of 700-900 words. Turkish articles require an extended abstract in English, while English articles require an extended abstract in Turkish. For Arabic articles, both Turkish and English extended abstracts are required.
9. Artuklu Akademi Journal adopts the "Double Blind Referee Application" in article evaluations. For this reason, the name of the author or any information that would reveal the identity of the author should not be included in the footnotes.
10. Footnote numbers in the text should be used after punctuation marks.
11. Footnote writing rules apply to the quotations given in the text, and the quotations should be given separately from the original text by narrowing 1.5 cm from the edges.
12. Drawings, graphics, pictures and similar materials used in the articles should be in JPEG or GIF format. Visual materials and attachments should be sent via e-mail to artukluakademi@gmail.com when necessary.
13. In Arabic names of works and authors, the spelling rules of the Diyanet Encyclopaedia of Islam should be taken as basis. For names of works written in other foreign languages and Ottoman Turkish, the initials of each word should be capitalised.

ETHICS COMMITTEE APPROVAL
Our journal requires that the relevant ethics committee decision must be obtained for all studies in all disciplines that require ethics committee permission. In this context, information about the ethics committee approval (name of the committee, date and decision number) should be clearly stated in the text of the article. In case reports, the information that the informed consent form has been obtained should be included in the article.
In line with the regulations implemented by Ulakbim TR Index since 2020, studies that do not have ethics committee permission are not evaluated in our journal.

Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Approval
In our journal, researches that require ethics committee permission include the following studies:
• All research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that involve collecting data from participants through methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, experiments and interview techniques,
• Studies in which humans and animals (including materials or data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes,
• Clinical trials conducted on humans,
• Scientific research on animals,
• Retrospective studies within the framework of the Personal Data Protection Law.
In order for such studies to be included in the evaluation, the relevant ethics committee permissions must be obtained and these permissions must be clearly stated in the text of the article.

Note: Scientific research on humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and ARRIVE guidelines and approval must be obtained from the relevant ethics committee. Studies without ethics committee approval are not evaluated in our journal.
