Writing Rules

Submission of Academic Papers


a) Articles should only be sent as a single copy in ".doc" or ".docx" format via the Dergipark system.
b) In the articles to be sent via the Dergipark system, information about the author (titles, institutions, e-mail addresses, ORCID numbers) should be included completely.
c) Articles submitted to our journal should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication. Authors are deemed to have undertaken this by submitting their works to our journal.
d) Articles submitted to our journal are examined by iThenticate or Turnitin plagiarism programme. Articles with a similarity rate of more than 15% (bibliography, footnotes and similarities less than 15% are excluded from the Turnitin review) are rejected without being sent for peer review.

Writing Rules

Word Limits

Articles submitted to the journal consist of Turkish and English title, Turkish and English abstracts, Turkish and English keywords, text, bibliography and footnotes. The text of the articles submitted to the journal should not be less than 4000 words and not more than 10000 words. Turkish and English abstracts should be at least 150 words and should not exceed 250 words. The number of keywords should not be less than 3 words and not more than 5 words.

Title and Author Name

The title of the text should be written in 14 pt, all letters capitalised, bold and centred. There should be 12 spaces before the title and 6 spaces after the title. The author's name should be placed to the right of the title. The author's name should be written in 12 pt, bold, centred, initial letters capitalised. In the footnote to be formed with the (*) symbol next to the author's surname, the title, institution, e-mail address and ORCID number of the author should be included respectively.

Turkish and English Abstract and Keywords

Turkish abstract, English abstract, Turkish keywords and English keywords (Keywords) should be bold and capitalised. Keywords should be carefully selected and written in alphabetical order. The number of keywords should not be less than 3 words and not more than 5 words. The abstract should be at least 150 words and should not exceed 250 words. There should be 1.25 cm indentation at the beginning of the paragraph. The body text of the articles should be in Times New Roman, 10 font size, 1.5 line spacing and justified.

Extended Abstract
This section should be prepared in English for studies prepared in Turkish. The Extended English Abstract should be at least 750 words and should not exceed 1500 words. This section should be written in a way to cover the entire study, including the general framework, problem, method, aims, data collection technique, important findings and results of the study. The text should be in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing; footnotes should be shown at the bottom of the relevant page, Times New Roman font, 10 pt, 1 line spacing and justified.

Margins
Pages should be arranged with 2.5 cm margins on the left, right and top and 3 cm margins on the bottom.

Subsection Headings
All sub-section headings should be in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, bold, with one line space before and 6 spaces after. Introduction, Conclusion and Bibliography headings should start from a new page and should be written centrally, other headings should be aligned from the left. Introduction, Conclusion, References, first and second level headings should be written in all capital letters, and third and lower level headings should be written with the first letter of each word capitalised. First, second and third level headings should be numbered as (1. TITLE, 1.1.1 TITLE, 1.1.1.1 Title...). Fourth and lower level headings should not be numbered.

The text
The text of the article should be in a single Word document, body text should be in Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing; footnotes should be shown at the bottom of the relevant page, Times New Roman font, 10 pt, 1 line spacing and justified.

Tables and Images
All visual elements other than tables, such as figures, pictures, diagrams, photographs, etc. should be labelled as "Images". Tables and Images can be placed in the relevant section of the text, but must be centred on the page. Table and Image information should be written in Times New Roman font, font size 10, label and number in bold italic, explanation text in italic, 1 line spacing and centre aligned, under the visual element. Tables and images should be cross-referenced in the text only by labelling and number (Image 1. Image 2.). One line space should be left before and after tables and images.

References
References in the text and at the end of the text should follow APA 7 reference style. More details about APA 7 reference style can be found at https://apastyle.apa.org/.
All sources used and cited during the research work (except classical texts and personal interviews) are added to the Bibliography. Sources not cited in the research work are not included in the Bibliography.

The works used should be listed in alphabetical order according to the surnames of the authors. References should be written in Times New Roman, 11 font size, 1 line spacing and justified. Each source should be indented 1 cm at the beginning. The citation system adopted in the bibliography is "APA 7" and examples according to this citation system are given below.
