Aim & Scope

Ankara University Journal of Educational Sciences (AU-JFES) is an international, open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal publishing the theoretical, methodological, and applied studies in the field of educational sciences. Published continuously since 1968, the journal aims at contributing to academic and public discourse by supporting the production of high-quality scholarship in educational sciences. Its primary objective is to enhance interdisciplinary and international academic interaction by disseminating original research based on rigorous scientific methodologies that foster critical, innovative, and transformative approaches in education systems, learning environments, instructional processes, and educational policies. The journal’s target audience includes all stakeholders involved in educational sciences, such as teachers, educational administrators, practitioners, researchers, and undergraduate and graduate students.

AU-JFES adopts an interdisciplinary and critical publishing approach, considering the multidimensional nature of educational systems and learning processes. The journal’s scope is not limited solely to the Turkish context but extends to global structural, social, cultural, technological, and political transformations affecting education. Consequently, it publishes empirical and applied studies alongside analyses addressing the philosophical, sociological, and ethical foundations of education. Additionally, it welcomes articles discussing contemporary educational issues, including justice, gender equality, inclusivity, ecological sustainability, digital transformation, migration, and crisis situations within the educational sciences framework. The journal particularly encourages studies that integrate local knowledge with universal theoretical frameworks.

All submissions to AU-JFES are assessed through a double-blind peer review process based on criteria such as originality, scientific contribution, and methodological rigor. No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the publication process. The journal publishes articles in both Turkish and English.
