Ankara University Press was founded in September 2010 and Ankara University Tandoğan Campus, International Office, Emniyet Mahallesi 06100 Yenimahalle/Ankara. After the publishing policy of the publishing house was determined, the Editorial Board consisting of Ankara University faculty members was appointed and the series arrangements, applications started to be accepted. Accepting applications not only from Ankara University, but also from academic members of other universities, researchers and writers from various disciplines, Ankara University Press’ mission is to make the information capacity of the university colorful without compromising its scientificness, and to distribute it to a wide audience.
The first books of Ankara University; Assoc. Dr. “Cumhuriyet’s Utopia: Ankara”, edited by Funda Cantek and covering many topics from political life, architecture, archeology, music to press life; Mehmet Necati Kutlu’s Talisman, Faith and Rebellion: From the Beginning to the XVIII. Latin American Literature Until the Twentieth Century”; Ahmet Makal and Prof. Dr. “Women’s Labor in Turkey from Past to Present” edited by Gülay Toksöz; Halise Karaaslan Şanlı’s “Hasan Âli Yücel Speeches: National Identity Construction and Political Rhetoric”.
While expanding its general borders, Ankara University Press will expand and disseminate the objective and scientific free understanding of our University. It will achieve this through high-quality, lasting value-creating, critical, scientific and creative publications, and will expand its horizons to carry university publishing in Turkey around the world.
