Quantitative and Qualitative Research Guide

Issues to be Considered in Articles Based on Quantitative and Qualitative Research

In articles based on quantitative and qualitative methods, a methodological framework should be presented under the title of Abstract, including information about the problematic, purpose, method, data collection and analysis techniques used, sample/research group and results obtained.
In studies based on quantitative and qualitative methods, the "Introduction" section should provide a background on the literature related to the research topic, including current studies. The purpose of the study should be justified by relating it to this literature, and the results obtained are expected to be evaluated and interpreted by taking this literature into consideration. The problems or hypotheses of the study should be clearly stated and the originality of the study and its contribution to the field should be emphasised.
Quantitative and qualitative studies should include the main headings Method, Results and Discussion in addition to the Introduction; in addition, the "Method" heading should include subheadings such as study group/sample, data collection tools, data collection process, data analysis techniques. In these sub-headings, the method of the research should be clearly explained, information should be given about the techniques used in the selection of the study / sample group, data collection tools and the process of creating these tools. In addition, the application process of data collection tools should be described in detail. The techniques used in analysing the data obtained and the subheadings of the analysis should be explained.
The findings obtained in the study should be included under a separate heading and the items or categories obtained as a result of data analysis should be discussed under separate headings. The findings obtained should be interpreted in relation to the existing literature. In particular, it is important that quantitative research should not consist of information based only on frequency and percentage values.
In the conclusion and discussion section, a concise and general framework should be presented about the results obtained based on the purpose and importance of the study, the originality of the study, its contribution to the field should be stated, and the main idea of the article should be emphasised by justifying it. Other fields of study related to the subject should be pointed out.
