Publication Policy
The Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Journal of Health Sciences and Research publishes original research, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, case reports review articles, editorial comments, and letters to the editor in all fields of nursing, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, child development, midwifery, gerontology, health management, social work and health sciences.
Open Access Policy
Due to the role of sharing information in the advancement of science, the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Journal of Health Sciences and Research provides open access to the full text of all articles published the journal, which can be read and downloaded free of charge via the DergiPark Directory. No fee is charged from the author(s) during or after the publication application to our journal.
Review and Acceptance Process of Articles
The Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Journal of Health Sciences and Research is a multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, periodical, open access journal published electronically three times a year (April-August-December) by the Faculty of Health Sciences of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül Universit
Manuscripts submitted to our journal for evaluation must have been published, accepted for publication, or be under consideration elsewhere. The responsibility for published and under-reviewed works belongs to the author (s). The copyrights of the published works belong to the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Journal of Health Sciences and Research. Works that are appropriate in form and content are submitted by the editor to the Editorial board. Works approved by the editorial board are sent to at least two referees for evaluation. Based on the evaluation reports from the referees, the journal editorial office decides whether to publish the studies, request corrections or additional information from the author(s), or reject them. In cases where one positive and one negative report is received, the study may be sent to a third referee if approved by the Journal Editor. Suggestions from the referees and the Editorial Board are forwarded to the author(s); the author(s) make the necessary revisions and uploads revised version to the system. This process between the referees and the author(s) is conducted under double-blind conditions, keeping identities confidential. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection is made by the editor. The approval of the author(s) is obtained for the final version of the article approved for publication. This process typically takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks. No fee is charged for publication or after publication in our journal.
Correction and Withdrawal Processes
Articles in the pre-evaluation phase can be withdrawn by their authors. In the peer-review phase, in cases such as delays in the evaluation process of the submitted manuscript, etc. Aauthors who wish to withdraw their article and have it published elsewhere must submit a written application. Authors may withdraw their articles from the journal after the application is approved by the journal Editorial Board.
Plagiarism Policy of Journal
During the file upload process, authors are required to upload the similarity report obtained using a suitable plagiarism detection program to the system along with other files. Articles with a similarity rate exceeding 20% are considered plagiarism and are rejected.
ETHICS POLICY
It is aimed that all stakeholders (authors, editors, referees, publishers, and readers) a scientific study contribute to the proper advancement of science. Compliance with scientific ethical principles is essential in studies prepared for this purpose goal.
These ethical principles are based on the guidelines prepared by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), and some of them are presented below, with suggestions for adoption by stakeholders.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Ensure the accuracy of the data related to the study, maintain organized research records, and to be able to provide access to this data upon a request.
• Ensure that the submitted article is not published or under consideration accepted elsewhere, and complete the Copyright Transfer Form.
• If the content overlaps with published or submitted work, acknowledge this conflict and provide proper citations, if necessary, supply the editor with a copy of any work with similar content, and obtain permission to reproduce or use any material from other sources, show giving appropriate attribution.
• Ensuring compliance with national and international laws and guidelines for all studies involving human or animal subjects (e.g., WMA Declaration of Helsinki, NIH Policy on the Use of Laboratory Animals, EU Directive on the Use of Animals), confirm that necessary approvals have been obtained, and respect subject privacy. Indicate the relevant ethics committee approvals and research details in the "Materials and Methods" section of the study.
• Obtain "informed consent" from patients, regardless of patient identity, and ensure patient privacy is protected.
• In case of any conflict of interest, disclose it to the editor and publisher; publish an erratum, addendum or correction, or withdraw the work if deemed necessary.
• Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the sources used during article preparation. Cite the sources within the article and at the end, in accordance with ethical principles.
Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
• Strive for the continuous development of the journal and the improvement of its publication quality.
• Act in a balanced, objective, and fair manner in performing duties, without discrimination based on gender, religious or political beliefs, or the ethnic or geographical origin of authors.
• Evaluate submissions to the journal according to their content, giving no special privilege to any author.
• Take the necessary measures to prevent potential conflicts of interest and evaluate declarations, if any.
• Determine and implement journal policies regarding publication, blind peer review, the evaluation process, and ethical principles.
• Ensure that all published articles are evaluated by appropriately qualified referees.
• Protect the copyright of the authors of the articles published in the journal
• Implement the necessary procedures the journal's policies in cases of ethical violation complaints. Allow the authority to respond to the complaint and the apply necessary sanctions, regardless of authotship.
• Reject submissions that are not suitable for the purpose and scope of the journal.
Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
• Review the article promptly and objectively, and agree to consider only studies related to the area of expertise to contribute to the editor's decision-making process.
• Evaluate the study objectively based on its content, without consideration of religious, political, or economic interests.
•Conduct assessment with impartiality and maintain confidentiality
• Provide guidance to improve the quality of the article and examine the study meticulously. Convey comments to the author in a constructive and professional manner.
• Protect the confidentiality of information provided by the editor and the author, destroy the study after the evaluation process in accordance with confidentiality principles, and notify the editor if any violation of blind peer review occurs.
• Be aware of potential conflicts of interest (financial, institutional, collaborative, or other relationships between authors) and alert the editor; withdraw from the review if necessary.
• Complete the assessment within the agreed timeframe.
• Submit the evaluation using the “Referee Evaluation Form” within the designated period.
Publisher's Ethical Responsibilities
• The publisher, as a stakeholders in a scientific study, should act within the scope of all these ethical principles.
• The publisher is obliged to use its communication power impartially and to direct the target audience correctly.
• Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Health Sciences provides open, electronic, and free access to the journal via the journal website. It protects the property and copyright of all published works and undertakes the task of archiving every published item.
• Individuals should not hesitate to contact the publisher when they encountering an unethical situation.
Wage Policy
Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Journal of Health Sciences and Research does not charge any fee for submitting, evaluating and publishing articles. All issues of the journal can be accessed free of charge at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/pub/boneyusbad.
