Aim & Scope

The International Journal of Current Approaches in Language, Education and Social Sciences (CALESS) is dedicated to publishing original, high quality research that offers solutions to contemporary problems and contributes meaningfully to the literature in language education, educational sciences, and specific social sciences. Papers where these core disciplines are not the primary focus, or studies conducted outside the approved social science fields of Philology, Philosophy, History, and Geography, will not be considered.

Submitted articles should have the following qualities:

  • align with one of our accepted submission formats, which include empirical and conceptual research, case studies, literature reviews, viewpoints, historical views, short reports, letters to the editor, and book reviews;
  • show a rigorous research method informed by a strong theoretical underpinning within applied linguistics, curriculum instruction, or related fields;
  • explicitly build on previous research, offering up to date insights into new trends, pedagogical techniques, or technologies in education;
  • transcend the solely local aspect of the research context, demonstrating a broader relevance and generalizability for teacher training, cross cultural studies, or educational policy.

Starting July 1, 2026, to improve international visibility and indexing applications, all full texts will be published exclusively in English.

Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal undergo a rigorous double blind peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two independent referees.
