Author Guidelines

INSTRUCTIONS TO CONTRIBUTORS 

Article Types
Original research article and reviews falling into the scope will be considered for publication and should be submitted via online submission system.  Before preparing review article for Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara Series C Biology, authors are encouraged to discuss any proposed review with the Managing Editor.
There are no spesific guidelines regarding length of original research articles.

Article-processing charges
The publication costs for Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara Series A2-A3: Physical Sciences and Engineering are covered by the journal, so authors do not need to pay an article-processing and submission charges. The PDF copies of accepted papers are free of charges and can be downloaded from the webside. Hard copies of the paper, if required, are due to be charged for the amount of which is determined by the administration each year. Furthermore, the magazine does not accept sponsorship and advertising offers. All expenses of our journal are covered by the publisher.

Submission
All manuscripts should be submitted via our online submission system https://dergipark.org.tr/en/journal/2987/submission/step/manuscript/new.

Cover Letter
Manuscripts should be submitted in the PDF form used in the peer-review process together with the COVER LETTER and the TEX file (Source File). In the cover letter the authors should suggest the most appropriate Area Editor for the manuscript and potential four reviewers with full names, universities and institutional email addresses. Proposed reviewers must be experienced researchers in your area of research and all of them should be from different universities. In addition, proposed reviewers must not be co-authors, advisors, students, etc. of the authors. In the cover letter, the author may enter the name of anyone who he/she would prefer not to review the manuscript, with detailed explanation of the reason.
Note that the editorial office may not use these nominations, but this may help to speed up the selection of appropriate reviewers.

Preparing your manuscript
Manuscripts should be typeset using a word processor editor. Authors should prepare the article using the COMMUNICATIONS style before submission to the editor via our submission system.  A template of manuscript can be downloaded in .docx  form from the  link https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/journal-file/31221

Title Page
The title page should contain the title of the paper, full names of the authors, affiliations addresses and e-mail addresses of all authors. Authors are also required to submit their Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID)’s which can be obtained from http://orcid.org as their URL address in the format http://orcid.org/xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Please indicate the corresponding author.

Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should state briefly the purpose of the research. Abstracts have a maximum word count of 250 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references. At least 4 keywords are required.

Tables
All tables must have numbers (TABLE 1) consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and a legend above the table. Please submit tables as editable text not as images.

Figures
All figures must have numbers (FIGURE 1) consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. All figures must have a caption. A caption should consist of description of the figure. Required final resolution is 600 dpi for coloured images (RGB), 300–600 dpi for black and white images and 600–1200 dpi for line art. Pictures and line drawings should be saved as JPEG, TIFF files.

Authors Contribution Statement, Declaration of  Competing Interests, Acknowledgements
Authors Contribution Statement, Declaration of Competing Interests and Acknowledgements should be given at the end of the article before the references. If the manuscript is derived from a graduate thesis (e.g., Master’s or Ph.D. dissertation), or has been supported by a funding agency or institution, this must be clearly stated in the Acknowledgements section.
Authors should indicate the title of the thesis and the institution where it was submitted, or provide the name of the funding body, project number, and grant code (if applicable).
In the case of thesis-based studies, the thesis author must have the highest contribution to the manuscript.
Example: "This study is a part of the Ph.D. thesis titled “Comparative Genomics of Rodent Regeneration,” submitted to Ankara University, Department of Biology (2022). It was supported by TÜBİTAK under Project No: 120Z456."

Ethics Committee Permission
In our journal, all studies that require ethics committee approval must be approved by the relevant committee. Surveys, experiments, observations, clinical and animal studies and research involving personal data are subject to ethics committee approval. This permission must be clearly stated in the text of the article. Studies without ethical approval are not evaluated. Scientific research on humans and animals must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and ARRIVE guidelines and approval must be obtained from the relevant ethics committee. Studies without ethics committee approval are not evaluated in our journal.

Manuscript
• Manuscripts should be typeset using a word processor editor. Authors should prepare the article using the journal's templates before submission to the editor via our submission system.
• It is a fundamental condition that articles submitted to Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara have not been previously published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author will not be permitted to make any new additions to the manuscript.
• Before publication, the galley proof is always sent to the author for correction. Thus it is solely the author's responsibility for any typographical mistakes which occur in their article as it appears in the Journal. The contents of the manuscript published in the Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara are the sole responsibility of the authors. When author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. If the editor or the publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, it is the obligation of the author to promptly retract or correct the paper or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.
• When errors are identified in published articles, the publisher team of Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara will consider what action is required and may consult the editors and the authors’ institution(s). Errors by the authors may be corrected by a corrigendum and errors by the publisher by an erratum. If there are errors that significantly affect the conclusions or there is evidence of misconduct, this may require retraction or an expression of concern following the COPE principles.

Authorship
It is a fundamental condition that articles submitted to Commun. Fac. Sci. Univ. Ank. Ser. C have not been previously published and will not be simultaneously submitted or published elsewhere. After the manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author will not be permitted to make any new additions to the manuscript.
Before publication the galley proof is always sent to the author for correction. Thus it is solely the author's responsibility for any typographical mistakes which occur in their article as it appears in the Journal. The contents of the manuscript published in the Commun. Fac. Sci. Univ. Ank. Ser. C are the sole responsibility of the authors. Authors should not post their submitted work online in any sense, before or during the submission process, as this may cause nomenclatural problems.

Declarations/Ethics
With the submission of the manuscript authors declare that:
• All authors of the submitted research paper have directly participated in the planning, execution, or analysis of study;
• All authors of the paper have read and approved the final version submitted;
• The contents of the manuscript have not been submitted, or published elsewhere and the visual-graphical materials such as photograph, drawing, picture, and document within the article do not have any copyright issue;
• While the submitted article is evaluated in our journal, it will not be sent to another journal.tt
• The article is clean in terms of ‘plagiarism’, and the legal and ethical responsibility of the article belong to hthe author(s). Author(s) also accept that the manuscript may go through plagiarism check using IThenticate software;
• The objectivity and transparency in research, and the principles of ethical and professional conduct have been followed.

Article Processing Time
Two months are given to the reviewers for the evaluation of the paper. Total processing time of a paper ended up between three to six month, in general.

References
The following format for the references should be used. Number of the references (numbers in squared brackets) in the list can be in alphabeticaly order or in the order in which they appear in the text. Use of DOI is highly encouraged. Below, It has no relationship with the text, but can be used to show sample citations such as; for articles [1], for books/booklets [2,3], book chapters [4], for theses [5] and proceedings [6].
