Article Evaluation Process
Articles are prepared for publication in four stages: pre-checking, evaluation, correction and publication.
Pre-checking
• Submitted manuscripts are firstly analysed for compliance with the journal's editorial policy. As a result of this review, the article may be rejected by the editor in the pre-checking step.
• Articles are examined in terms of form. Articles that do not comply with the publication and writing principles are returned to the author for re-submission after making the necessary corrections.
• Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism using a special plagiarism detection programme. Please click for detailed information.
Evaluation
• After the pre-checking, the article is forwarded to the field editor by the editor. The field editor sends the article to at least two referees in the relevant field for evaluation.
• Academic impartiality and scientific quality are the most important criteria in the evaluation.
• Double blind refereeing is applied in the journal.
• The names of the referees are kept confidential and the reports are kept for five years.
• Referees are given 4 weeks for the referee evaluation process.
• If one of the referee reports is positive and the other is negative, the manuscript is sent to a third referee. Manuscripts submitted to our journal can be published if at least two referees decide that the manuscript can be published.
• Authors take into account the criticisms and suggestions of the referees and the Editorial Board. If there are issues they disagree with, they have the right to object with their reasons. The Editorial Board evaluates and decides on this objection.
• Authors are obliged to complete the necessary corrections within 1 month, taking into account the feedback of the Referee and the Editorial Board.
Correction
• Articles that receive a positive report from the referees are directed to the editing step. In this step, language control, correction and proofreading processes are carried out by the persons in charge under the guidance of the editor.
• It is decided within 4 months at the latest whether the articles sent to the journal will be published or not.
• Abstract and Summary sections for Turkish texts and Abstract, Abstract, Turkish Abstract and Summary sections for texts written in other languages are grammatically checked. Corrected texts are sent back to the authors.
Publication
• Articles that pass technical, academic and linguistic reviews are examined by the Editorial Board and the final publication status is decided. In case of objection from the members, the Board decides by majority vote.
• The manuscripts that are decided to be published by the Editorial Board are made ready for publication by typesetting and layout.
• After the final proofreading process, the completed manuscripts are published in the journal.
