Plagiarism Policy

Authors who submit their work to the Journal of Values Education accept that their work is free of plagiarism and that they have given references appropriately.
Plagiarism is a violation of ethics, regardless of whether it is intentional or not. It is not only unethical, but also a crime and unacceptable if the studies are similar to other sources without reference and are published in this form. For this reason, in accordance with its publication policies, the Journal of Values Education requires plagiarism control for all studies to be published.

Articles submitted for publication are expected to comply with the spelling, punctuation and general rules of the language in which they are written, as well as the journal's spelling rules. Authors are obliged to upload a similarity report of their articles during article submission. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are first reviewed by the editor and editorial board within the framework of the aforementioned criteria and then, after being found appropriate, they are scanned for plagiarism with the help of various scanning software (currently iThenticate programme). Excluding the bibliography and references, the similarity with other texts should not exceed 18% as a result of the scanning performed for the main text of the article. In the case of rates between 18% and 30%, the author is contacted and the article is sent to the author for editing:
1- It can be sent to the author for editing by the editor.
2- It can be rejected by the editor.
3- It can be sent to the editorial board for evaluation and the reasons for similarity can be examined.
However, if the similarity rate is more than 30%, even if the source is cited, the article may be rejected by considering that the study is weak in terms of originality and contribution to the field.

If plagiarism is detected in an article submitted or published in our journal, our journal acts in accordance with the COPE principles (Plagiarism in a submitted manuscript - Plagiarism in a published article).
