Publication Principles
1. Our journal is a "Peer-Reviewed Journal" indexed by ULAKBİM and is published twice a year (May, November). Our journal is also indexed in TR-Dizin, HeinOnline, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, Google Scholar, Academindex, and Asos Index databases.
2. Along with articles to be peer-reviewed, a plagiarism detection program, copyright transfer form, and for translations, a document confirming that the necessary approvals have been obtained in accordance with the Copyright Law and relevant legislation, must be uploaded to DergiPark.
3. Articles submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere or submitted for publication elsewhere. Submission of an article to our journal constitutes the author's commitment in this regard. 4. Authors must provide their title, ORCID number (Scientific Researcher Identification Number) obtained from https://orcid.org/signin, institution, contact address, telephone number, and email address. This information should be uploaded in a separate file from the article.
5. All works submitted for publication (except translations) must include a plagiarism detection program. The acceptable similarity rate is a maximum of 15%, excluding footnotes, quotations, and bibliography. Articles must be formatted according to the formal and material requirements stipulated in our publication guidelines. Articles that do not comply with these elements will be returned to the author for correction. No second correction will be given, and the article will be rejected by our editorial board. In addition, the following sentence must be added to the first footnote of the article: “The author undertakes that their work complies with the scientific ethical principles of our Journal.” 6. In accordance with ULAKBİM/HeinOnline criteria, scientific articles in our journal are classified according to their type as research articles, translations, case studies, and other studies (reviews, etc.). The author should state their opinion on the nature of the work (research article, case study, translation, and other studies (reviews, etc.)) under the title of the work. The nature of the submitted articles is evaluated by referees. In case of disagreement among the referees regarding the type of article, the decision of the editorial board shall prevail. 7. It is mandatory to submit the original language version of translations. In addition, for translations, the translator must have obtained written permission from the copyright holders of the original work in accordance with the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works, and this must be stated in a footnote added to the translation title. 8. Although the primary language of our journal is Turkish, articles in English, German, and French are also included. 9. Submitted articles must include a title, an abstract of at least 100 and no more than 200 words, and 5 keywords in both English and Turkish. For articles written in a foreign language, an abstract in the original language and in Turkish should be included.
10. Submitted articles should be in Times New Roman font, with 1.5 line spacing and 12-point font for the main text, and 10-point (single-spaced) footnotes. The margins and top/bottom margins should be 2.5 cm, and the article should not exceed 50 pages (including references) (maximum 30 pages for translations).
11. Headings within the text should be numbered and displayed as follows:

12. Citations are shown as footnotes at the bottom of the page. A bibliography listing the sources used in the article, alphabetically by the authors' last names, should be included at the end of the article.
13. The following format is mandatory for citing works in footnotes and the bibliography:

In citations to more than one work by the same author, the title of the work should be indicated in footnotes and the bibliography as an abbreviation. In citations to works with multiple authors, all authors should be cited in the format Last Name, First Name/Last Name, First Name; abbreviations such as "et al., and others" should not be used. In subsequent footnotes, the author's Last Name, p. (page number) should be cited.

For electronic sources, the access address and date should also be indicated. 14. The initial evaluation of manuscripts will be conducted by the Editorial Board. Reasons for rejection include an unusual number of spelling errors, clear violations of publication/ethical principles, failure to meet scientific standards, substandard publication quality and standards, and failure to make corrections suggested by the reviewers within 20 days.
15. In the initial evaluation, manuscripts selected for peer review will be sent to two reviewers (whose names are kept confidential according to ULAKBİM criteria). Based on the reports from these reviewers, a decision will be made regarding publication, requesting corrections from the author based on the report, or rejecting the manuscript. The author will be informed of the decision as soon as possible.
16. If one reviewer's report is negative and the other is positive, a third reviewer will be conducted. If the reviewer's report is negative, the manuscript will not be published. If corrections are requested in the reviewer's report, the author must make the changes only within the specified timeframe and within a maximum of 20 days. Failure to make the corrections within the specified timeframe reserves the right to reject the manuscript.
17. If any of the reviewers conclude that the submitted manuscript violates scientific research and publication ethics, the author will be informed that the manuscript is not deemed suitable for publication in the Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law Journal. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject a manuscript, even if it has passed peer review, provided that the author is informed of the reasons for the rejection.
18. Withdrawal of submitted manuscripts is possible until the peer review process is completed.
19. The final version of manuscripts that have passed the peer review and are decided to be published and/or published with revisions must be saved in Microsoft Word format (*.doc, *.docx) and uploaded to the system.
20. It is assumed that the submitted manuscripts have undergone final proofreading and are "ready for publication" in the form submitted by the author in written or electronic format.
21. If the manuscripts are accepted for publication, Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law has all publication rights, including the right to publish the full text (in any format) electronically. Authors are deemed to have transferred their copyrights to the Faculty.
22. Manuscripts that are not returned from peer review within the specified time will be evaluated in the next issue of the journal unless the author requests otherwise.
