Our journal acknowledges the growing role of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in academic research and publishing processes, while emphasizing their ethical, transparent, and responsible use. AI-supported tools can facilitate the production of text, images, audio, and synthetic data, thereby enhancing productivity and fostering innovation. However, when used without appropriate human oversight, they may pose risks such as inaccurate or biased outputs, deficiencies in citation practices, and potential violations of privacy and intellectual property rights.
In this context, our journal adopts the following principles:
- Authors must clearly disclose the use of any AI tools in their work, including the name of the tool, the purpose of its use, and the extent of its contribution.
- This disclosure must be provided under a separate section titled “Use of Artificial Intelligence”, placed below the conclusion section of the manuscript.
- AI tools cannot be listed as authors under any circumstances.
- Full responsibility for the content of the manuscript rests with the authors. Authors are accountable for the accuracy, originality, and scientific integrity of their work.
- The use of AI does not justify or excuse unethical practices such as plagiarism or improper citation.
- Any use of others’ ideas, data, or expressions must be properly cited in accordance with established academic standards.
- Authors are responsible for ensuring that any data entered into AI tools do not violate confidentiality, privacy, or copyright regulations.
- Confidential materials related to the peer review process must not be uploaded to any AI system.
- Reviewers and editors must not upload submitted manuscripts, in whole or in part, to any generative AI tools or share them with third-party systems.
- The peer review process must be conducted in accordance with principles of confidentiality, impartiality, and academic integrity.
- The journal may use AI-assisted tools in editorial processes (e.g., language editing, similarity checks, and technical assessments).
- Such tools are used solely for supportive purposes, and all final decisions remain under the responsibility of the editors.
- The use of AI tools for improving language, grammar, and readability is acceptable.
- However, such use must not involve the generation of the scientific content of the manuscript by AI.
This policy is prepared in accordance with international publishing standards and aligns with the principles of Committee on Publication Ethics.
