The Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies is a peer-reviewed international journal that aims to contribute to the academic knowledge in the fields of media, communication, and cultural studies. The journal adopts an interdisciplinary approach and publishes both theoretical and applied research on a broad range of topics, including media and communication practices, cultural studies, digital transformation, media technologies, identity and representation, and critical media studies.

Our journal aims to provide a platform for scholars, academics, and professionals to share innovative approaches in media, communication, and cultural studies. Our publication policy encourages diverse methodological and theoretical perspectives, facilitating the convergence of global and local insights.

Submitted academic works are expected to adhere to ethical principles and maintain scientific quality. The following main topics constitute the core focus areas of our journal:

The Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies accepts original research articles, review articles, critical essays, and book reviews in the fields of media, communication, and cultural studies. Our publication policy supports diverse perspectives, interdisciplinary contributions, and critical approaches. Submissions are accepted in both Turkish and English.

Submissions should include the following sections:

  1. Title, author details, abstracts (200 words)keywords (3-7 words), main text, references, appendices, tables, and figures. The names of tables, figures, and graphics should be written below them and must be numbered (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1, Graphic 1).
  2. Articles should be between 4000-8000 words, while book reviews should range from 1000-1500 words.
  3. Main titles should be written in uppercase letters, Times New Roman, 12 pt, and bold.
  4. The author’s name should appear below the title in the top-right corner (12 pt), with title and institutional affiliation provided in the footnotes.
  5. The text should use Times New Roman font: abstracts 10 pt, main text 12 pt, and footnotes 8 pt.
  6. Paragraph spacing should be 6 pt, line spacing 1.5, and the first line indentation 0.5 cm.
  7. References should follow APA 6 style.
  8. Submissions should be prepared in .doc or .docx format and uploaded to the ULAKBİM DergiPark system.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

The Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies (EMEDIA) adheres to high academic and ethical standards throughout its publication process. The journal expects all stakeholders (authors, reviewers, editors, and readers) to act in accordance with academic integrity and ethical principles. The publication process is guided by the following ethical principles and policies:

Ethical Principles
Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Principles
The Eurasian Journal of Media, Communication, and Culture Studies commits to following the Code of Conduct and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice prepared by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

• The COPE Guidance for Editors is followed as part of the responsibilities of the journal's editors.
• The COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers are mandatory for all reviewers of the journal.

The COPE guidelines support transparency, impartiality, and the maintenance of high scientific standards in all journal processes.
Council of Science Editors (CSE) Guidelines.

The journal also aligns with the standards outlined by the Council of Science Editors (CSE). The CSE guidelines ensure that:

• All published works demonstrate accuracy, reliability, and transparency.
• Ethical approval is obtained and explicitly mentioned for studies involving human or animal subjects.
• Peer review is conducted in a fair and impartial manner.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors
1. Submitted works must be original and not under review or previously published elsewhere.
2. All sources and contributions used in the study must be appropriately cited.
3. Studies involving human or animal subjects must receive ethical approval, which should be clearly stated in the article.
4. Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
5. The similarity index of submissions must not exceed 15%; otherwise, the submissions will be rejected.

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
1. Reviewers must act with impartiality and confidentiality during the review process.
2. Reviewers should decline to evaluate studies that fall outside their area of expertise.
3. Any conflict of interest must be disclosed, and the review process should be terminated if necessary.
4. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive and academically sound feedback.

Ethical Guidelines for Editors
1. Editors are responsible for managing all submissions fairly, impartially, and confidentially.
2. Editors must follow a transparent policy to prevent conflicts of interest.
3. Articles are evaluated based on their academic contribution and originality.
4. Editors take necessary actions, such as corrections, retractions, or clarifications, in cases of ethical misconduct.

Publication Policy
1. EMEDIA is an open-access journal published biannually (June and December) and does not charge any fees to authors.
2. All articles undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
3. Works are published only if they meet academic quality and ethical standards.
4. Copyrights for the published content remain with the authors, while the journal retains the first publication right.
5. EMEDIA adheres to the ethical guidelines set by COPE and CSE and refers to these resources when necessary.

These ethical principles and publication policies aim to ensure transparency, reliability, and scientific contribution in all aspects of the journal's processes.

Eurasian Journal of Media Communication and Cultural Studies does not request a fee from authors under any name.
