Article Retraction and Correction Process

Article Retraction and Correction Process
In accordance with the publication principles of Genç Mütefekkirler Dergisi, authors and the editorial board assume certain responsibilities in the process of retracting a study or correcting a published article. The principles of this process are explained below.

1. Responsibilities of Authors
If authors discover an error or unethical situation in their published, early view, or peer review process studies, they are responsible for conducting the process transparently in cooperation with the editor.

To withdraw a work that is in the review stage, the author(s) must fill out the “Article Withdrawal and Correction Request Form”; the form must be signed by each author with a wet signature, scanned, and sent to the editorial board via email.

The editorial board will evaluate the request within 15 days of receiving it and respond to the author(s).

Works whose copyright has been transferred to Genç Mütefekkirler Dergisi cannot be submitted to another journal without the approval of the withdrawal request.

2. Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
The editorial board shall immediately initiate an investigation in the event of any suspicion of copyright infringement, plagiarism, or other ethical violations in published or pre-publication works.

If an ethical violation is detected in a work under review, the process is terminated and the authors are notified of the situation along with the reasons.

If an ethical violation is detected in a published or early view work, the author(s) are notified in writing within 15 days at the latest, and the following actions are taken in the first issue to be published:

a. The phrase “Retracted:” is added to the front of the electronic title of the study.
b. Instead of the abstract and full text, the reasons for retraction, any concrete evidence, and relevant institutional notifications are published.
c. The retraction notice is announced on the journal's home page.
d. The table of contents of the first issue to be published will include the phrase “Retracted: Article Title” and the article will be published starting from the first page, along with the reasons for retraction.
e. Official notification will be sent to the institutions affiliated with the author(s).
f. The aforementioned notifications are sent to all platforms where the journal is indexed and to the National Library Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey.
g. If deemed necessary, the editorial board may issue an ethical risk warning to other journals where the relevant author(s) have published their work.

3. Request for Correction
Authors may request the publication of a correction article if they identify a content-related, formal, or methodological error in a published article.

The correction request must be submitted in writing to the editorial board along with its justifications.

If the editorial board deems it appropriate, the correction text is published in the next issue under the heading “Correction Article.”
