GİSTU Journal of Gastronomy Research is a nationally peer-reviewed journal that accepts original research articles, reviews, and letters to the editor in the field of gastronomy. The submission of a manuscript implies that it has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The decision to publish manuscripts submitted to the GİBTÜ Journal of Gastronomy Research is made based on the Editorial Board's opinion regarding the significance and originality of the study, following the initial peer-review process.

All authors (corresponding author and co-authors) of manuscripts submitted to the journal must obtain an individual ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) number from http://orcid.org and include this number on the title page of the manuscript.

Articles

Articles must be written electronically in Microsoft Word format, using Times New Roman font, 12 pt font size, and 1.5 line spacing. Articles can be written in Turkish or English. Abstracts must be provided in both Turkish and English. Page margins must be set to 2.5 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right), and the text must be justified. Pages must be numbered consecutively. For original research articles, necessary ethics committee approvals must be obtained, and the ethics committee approval number and date must be stated in the text.

Title Page

The first page of the article must be the title page. The title of the article should be descriptive of the study. Separate titles must be provided in both Turkish and English. Abbreviations should not be used in the title.

The title page must include:

• Full names and surnames of all authors.
• Authors' affiliations, including the department, institute, or university name and full address.
• Corresponding author's email address.
• Superscript numbering for each author to indicate affiliation.
• ORCID IDs for all authors.
• Current contact details for the corresponding author, including address, email, and accessible phone numbers (at least one mobile phone number is required).
• If the study has been previously presented as a paper or published as an abstract at any scientific meeting, it must be acknowledged on this page.

Abstract

The abstract text and title must be prepared in both Turkish and English. Abstracts in both languages must not exceed the 300-word limit and must be fully identical in content. Abbreviations should be avoided as much as possible in the abstract section. Keywords must consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 words.

Main Text

The main text should consist of the following sections: "Introduction", "Materials and Methods", "Results and Discussion", and "Conclusion". Acknowledgments, Author Contributions, and Conflict of Interest statements must be declared at the end of the paper. Excessive use of abbreviations in the text should be avoided. All abbreviated terms must be defined in parentheses where they first appear in the main text, even if they were previously abbreviated in the abstract. Abbreviations must conform to standard conventions.

Introduction

After introducing the research topic in this section, its originality, objective, and relevant literature background must be presented with appropriate citations.

Materials and Methods

The research methods and equipment used should be presented clearly and concisely with citations. The exact source of all compounds, equipment, or software must be specified, including the full name of the supplier, city, and state/country. This section should be written in the past tense.

Statistical analysis must be included as a subsection at the end of this section. The results of statistical tests should be incorporated into the main body of the text (typically in the results section) rather than in figure captions. Sufficient explanation of the statistical analysis must be provided, and statistical measures of variation in text, figures, and tables must be defined. All measurements and units must be given in the metric system. All subscripts, superscripts, Greek letters, and unusual characters must be clearly designated.

Results and Discussion

The findings of the study should be presented in this section. Data should be presented as clearly as possible, preferably using tables or figures. The findings should be discussed and interpreted together with current literature. Subheadings may be created in this section.

Conclusion

This section should be a single paragraph highlighting the contribution of the results to the field and/or recommendations based on the discussion. It should not be extended into unnecessary paragraphs.

Acknowledgments

Persons and institutions providing support/funding for the study may be acknowledged in this section.

Author Contributions

The specific contributions of each author at various stages of the manuscript must be declared here (e.g., Author A: Writing - review & editing; Author B: Writing - original draft; Author C: Formal analysis, Investigation; Author D: Funding acquisition, etc.).

Conflict of Interest Form

The Conflict of Interest Form (which will be sent via email by the Editorial Board after manuscript submission) must be signed by the authors and submitted as a PDF/JPEG file to gigad@gibtu.edu.tr.

Reviewer Suggestion Form

Five potential reviewers relevant to the field of the submitted manuscript must be suggested. This form will be sent via email by the Editorial Board after submission and must subsequently be sent by the corresponding author to gigad@gibtu.edu.tr.
