İDEALKENT is a peer-reviewed academic journal that addresses the phenomenon of urbanization and spatial transformations from an interdisciplinary perspective, publishing original scholarly research produced in the fields of architecture, city and regional planning, urban design, urban studies, and local governance. The journal aims to support studies that evaluate the city’s physical space not only in terms of design and planning, but also together with its economic, social, cultural, political, and historical dynamics.
The main objective of İDEALKENT is to strengthen the relationship between city, space, and society through theoretical debates informed by different disciplines, methodological contributions, and practice- and policy-oriented analyses; and to provide a scientific publication platform for urban research at national and international scales, with a particular focus on Turkish cities.
• Our journal is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access, and online academic journal.
• Our journal publishes original and high-quality academic studies in its field, including research articles, review articles, translated articles, and book reviews.
• Manuscripts must present original data that have not been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
• The target audience of our journal consists of professionals, specialists, academics, researchers, master’s and doctoral students, as well as undergraduate and graduate students studying in relevant fields.
• Our journal accepts submissions on a continuous basis, and there is no time restriction for manuscript submission.
• Our journal has adopted the International Ethical Publishing Principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

• Architecture: Architectural design; history/theory/criticism of architecture; architectural heritage and conservation; sustainable architecture; and studies on disasters, risk, and resilience in the built environment.
• City and Regional Planning: Land use and environmental planning; strategic/metropolitan/regional planning; transportation planning; housing policies and urban development; and urban design and planning tools.
• Urban Sociology / Urban Studies: Urbanization and urban transformation; spatial inequality and segregation; migration and social cohesion; urban culture and everyday life; interdisciplinary urban research; and studies on urban history.
• Local Governments: Local government policies; urban governance and participation; urban policy development and service delivery; disaster management and resilience; and studies on smart cities and digital municipal governance.
The journal considers original research conducted using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, as well as theoretical and methodological contributions in related fields.
