Savaş Karagöz, PhD is a Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Aksaray University, Türkiye. He received his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Gazi University in 2014, following an MA in Educational Sciences from Erciyes University (2005) and a BA in Curriculum and Instruction (1999).
His research focuses on the history of Turkish education, teacher education, curriculum studies, and values education, with particular emphasis on the transition from the late Ottoman period to the early Republic. His work also addresses contemporary issues such as distance education, migration and education, and 21st-century skills.
Professor Karagöz has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented at numerous international conferences. He is the author of several scholarly books, including works on Republican-era education reforms and the historical development of teacher training institutions in Türkiye, and has contributed chapters to edited volumes in the field.
He has been serving at Aksaray University since 2015, where he currently holds the position of Professor and Head of the Department of Educational Sciences. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a classroom teacher and school counselor under the Ministry of National Education (1999–2015).
I graduated from Sakarya University in 2015 with a degree in English Language Teaching. In 2017, I completed my master's degree in the field of Curriculum and Instruction at Sakarya University. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University. In addition to all of this, since 2019, I have been working as a Lecturer at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences. My research areas include mindfulness in educational settings, as well as factors such as anxiety, attitudes, and boredom in English language classrooms.
