Aim & Scope

The International Journal of Politics and Security (IJPS) aims to advance cutting-edge scholarship in International Politics and Security Studies by publishing original, high-quality, and rigorously peer-reviewed research. As an open-access and fully online academic journal, IJPS provides a global platform for the critical examination of contemporary and theoretical debates shaping international politics, security dynamics, and global order.

Published biannually in May and October by the Association of International Politics and Security Studies (INTPOLSEC),

IJPS adheres to the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. The journal operates under a no-fee policy for submission and publication, ensuring unrestricted access to scholarly knowledge.
Responsibility for the content and ethical compliance of published work rests solely with the author(s), and the views expressed do not necessarily reflect those of IJPS or INTPOLSEC.

The International Journal of Politics and Security (IJPS) publishes scholarly work that offers substantive theoretical, empirical, and methodological contributions to the study of international politics and security. The journal covers a broad yet clearly defined intellectual space within International Relations and Security Studies, with particular attention to research that advances conceptual debates, refines analytical frameworks, or provides empirically grounded insights into global and regional political–security dynamics.

IJPS welcomes submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following areas:

• International Relations theory and contemporary debates
• Security Studies, including traditional, critical, and emerging security approaches
• International, national, regional, and global security dynamics
• Foreign policy analysis and strategic decision-making
• Area and regional studies with a clear international or security dimension
• International organizations, global governance, and international law
• Security strategies, military affairs, war studies, and peace research
• Conflict resolution, mediation, and post-conflict processes
• Terrorism, intelligence, and counterterrorism studies
• Emerging and non-traditional security challenges, including hybrid, cyber, and transnational threats

The journal encourages interdisciplinary research that bridges political science with related fields such as law, sociology, history, strategic studies, and area studies, provided that submissions maintain a strong analytical and conceptual grounding in international politics and security. Methodologically diverse approaches—qualitative, quantitative, comparative, and mixed methods—are welcomed, as long as they demonstrate academic rigor and originality.

IJPS publishes research articles, review articles, meta-analyses, case reports, and book reviews, all subject to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.
