Author Guidelines
AUTHOR GUIDE
International Journal of Social Inquiry is published twice a year (December and June). The journal includes research articles, book presentations, critics and case studies. These articles should not have been published elsewhere or sent for publication previously. Articles can be written in Turkish and English. When the articles are accepted Uludağ University Journal of Social Inquiry will have all publishing rights. The initial evaluation of the manuscripts submitted to the journal is made by the editorial board in terms of its suitability for the journal writing standards. Eligible studies will be scanned with internationally accepted academic plagiarism detector (excluding individual citations, bibliographies and footnotes cited in accordance with academic rules). Studies with more than 15% similarity will be sent back to the author/authors together with the scan result report. After this phase, the study will be sent to 2 referees. In the direction of the report from the referees, it will be decided whether the article will be published, corrected in the report frame, rejected or sent to third referee, and the author / authors will be notified about the situation as soon as possible. Corrections requested from the author/authors should be made within 1 month at the latest and sent to the editorial board.
Expression & Literary Style:
Articles can be written in Turkish and English. Sentences should be written in accordance with the grammer and orthographic rules. For grammer and ortographic rules in Turkish articles, Turkish Language Association’s Güncel Türkçe Sözlük and/or Büyük Türkçe Sözlük and Türkçe Yazım ve İmla Kılavuzu should be used. Titles:
An appropriate article title should be chosen for the study topic. Section titles in the article should be numbered with normal numbers. (1, 2, 3 … etc.) The number of subtitles in a section should be four at most. The numbering of titles should be as follows:

Headings should be bold and left-aligned. All titles in the text, including abstract, summary and keywords, should be shown in bold. Author and Contact Information Name and surname of the author/authors should be indicated after the article title. Asterisked footnotes should be created after the author/authors’ name and surname and the institution/university information and e-mail address to which the author/authors are affiliated should be shown. In more than one authoritative article, one of the authors must be specified as the corresponding author.
In case of necessity, please be sure to notify the author/authors' mobile phone numbers so that the editor can communicate with the author. This information will never be used when the article is published. Abstract An abstract which does not exceed 200 words should be written both in Turkish and English.
Keywords:
After the Turkish and English abstracts, the keywords consisting of 5 words should be given to correct the interest of the study.
Summary:
Turkish summary for articles in English and English summary for articles in Turkish which does not exceed 750 words should be written.
Text:
Text format should be presented in the following form. The article should not exceed 8000 words. Except for special symbols, text, footnote, abstract, summary, equations and sources should be written in "Times New Roman". Text in word format with 1.5 lines and 12 pt; footnotes, abstracts, summaries, equations and bibliographies should be written in 10 point font size in single line spacing. For transcribed texts, "Times Turkish Transcription" font should be preferred. The “introduction” should not be numbered. If an abbreviation is used in the text, these abbreviations should be shown in parentheses when used for the first time. For example: Devlet Planlama Teşkilatı (DPT) Footnotes in the text should be used to provide additional information and should be numbered with normal numbers.
Tables, Figures and Graphics:
All tables, figures and graphics should be numbered with normal numbers. (Figure 1 / Table 1 / Figure 1, Figure 2 / Table 2 / Figure 2). The headings of tables, figures and graphics should be placed on top of them. The headings of tables, figures and graphics must be written in single line and 10 pt. If the tables, figures and graphics used in the article do not belong to the author himself, the source should be given at the bottom of the tables, figures and graphics. Footnotes for tables and figures should be written in 10 point letter size with * (star) symbol.
Formulas and Equations:
Formulas should be written left aligned and numbered. The equations should be numbered as (1), (2), (3) ... and should be written in 10 pt font size.
Science Field Code (JEL CODE):
If the scientific code/jel code information related to the study field can be entered, the author / writers should write 3 scientific field codes. Science / jel codes can be found at the following website: http://www.aeaweb.org/jel/guide/
Acknowledgement:
If there are institutions and persons supporting the work, a thank-you note can be written. Acknowledgements can be given as a footnote on the first page of the article or under a separate title before the “references”. Citations The author must comply with the APA (American Psychological Association) publication guidelines in citation of the sources he uses. Bibliography:
The bibliography should include all of the references cited in the text. Journal and book names should be italic. The bibliography must be sorted alphabetically by author surname. If more than one studies belonging to one author are found, the studies of the author should be ordered chronologically from the most recent to the earliest one. Page numbers for periodicals and articles in compilation books should be specified.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
International Journal of Social Inquiry (IJSI) is an international refereed journal published by the Bursa Uludağ University Social Sciences Institute. The journal is published in two issues, in June and December each year. IJSI publishes articles on social, humanities and economic disciplines and interdisciplinary scientific research, reviews and case reports about archeology, geography, literature, economics, philosophy, economics, business, public administration, finance, psychology, art history, sociology, history, international relations, fine arts etc. Thus, it is aimed that the journal will reach a wide range of authors and readers.
At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with and act upon the standards of ethical considerations.
In the journal, publications are made in accordance with these standards and rules, taking into account the Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of The Council of Higher Education and the International Standards of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) for Editors and Authors.
Ethical Responsibilities of the Editor(s)
• Editors have full responsibility and authority to accept or reject an article.
• Editors should not have a conflict of interest / conflict regarding articles they accept or reject.
• Only articles that will contribute to the field should be accepted.
• Support the release or retraction of the correction when errors are found.
• It should prevent plagiarism / fake data.
• Editors and the Editorial Board should deal with the scientific content and writing rules associated with the journal.
• Editors will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication of articles where research misconduct occurs.
Ethical Responsibilities of Referees
Refree evaluation is defined as obtaining advice from experts in the field about articles submitted for publication to the journal.
• Referees' decisions must be objective and impartial.
• Referees should not have a conflict of interest / conflict with the research / author / funders of the research.
• Referees should indicate works that have been published but not yet cited in the article.
• Referees should keep reviewed articles confidential.
• Referees cannot communicate directly with authors; The article evaluation forms and the notes stated on the text are forwarded to the author (s) by the editors.
• Referees are required to fill in the "Referee Evaluation Form" for the articles they have evaluated. The referees are required to indicate in this form their decisions regarding whether the article they have evaluated can be published or not, and their reasons / suggestions for their decisions.
• An article submitted for publication in IJSI is evaluated by at least two referees.
• In IJSI, during the referee evaluation process, double blind refereeing is applied, in which the referees do not see the names of the authors and the authors do not know the names of the referees.
• After the article sent to be published is subjected to referee evaluation, it is also examined by the scientific committee when deemed necessary. Comments and evaluations from the referees and / or scientific committee are forwarded to the authors, and when necessary, the author may be asked to review and make corrections.
• IJSI does not pay referees at any stage for article evaluation.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
• Bibliography list must be complete.
• Plagiarism and fake data should not be included.
• The same research should not be attempted to be published in more than one journal, and should comply with scientific research and publication ethics.
According to Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive of The Council of Higher Education article 4, actions against scientific research and publication ethics are as follows:
a) Plagiarism: To present the ideas, methods, data, practices, writings, figures or works of others as if they were their own, partially or completely, without reference to their owners in accordance with scientific rules,
b) Forgery: To produce data that is not based on research, to edit or change the presented or published work based on unreal data, to report or publish them, to pretend that a research has been done.
c) Distortion: Falsifying the research records and the data obtained, showing the methods, devices and materials not used in the research as being used, not considering the data that are not suitable for the research hypothesis, playing with the data and / or results in order to conform to the relevant theory or assumptions, falsifying or shaping research results in line with their interests,
d) Republishing: To present more than one work containing the same results of a research as separate works in academic promotions,
e) Slicing: To present the results of a research as separate works in academic promotions by breaking down the results of the research in an inappropriate way and making many publications without reference to each other,
f) Unfair authorship: Including non-active contributors among the authors, not including those with active contributors among the authors, changing the author's order in an unjustified and inappropriate manner, removing the names of the active contributors from the work during publication or in subsequent editions, to include his / her name among the authors,
Other types of ethical violations include:
a) Not specifying the supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions in the publications made as a result of researches conducted with the support,
b) To use the thesis or studies that have not yet been submitted or accepted as a source without the permission of the owner,
c) Not complying with ethical rules in researches on humans and animals, not respecting patients' rights in publications,
d) To act contrary to the provisions of the relevant legislation in biomedical researches and other clinical trials related to humans,
e) Sharing the information contained in a work that has been assigned to review with others before it is published without the explicit permission of the owner of the work,
f) Misusing the resources, venues, facilities and devices provided or allocated for scientific research,
g) To claim unfounded, unwarranted and deliberate ethical violations,
h) To publish the data obtained without the express consent of the participants in a questionnaire and attitude research conducted within the scope of a scientific study or if the research will be conducted in an institution, also without the permission of the institution
i) To harm animal health and ecological balance in research and experiments,
j) Failing to obtain written permissions from authorized units in research and experiments before starting work.
k) Research and experiments in legislation or engage in activities contrary to the provisions on related research and experimentation of the international conventions that Turkey is a party.
l) Failing to comply with the obligation to inform and warn those concerned about possible harmful practices related to the scientific research conducted by researchers and authorities,
m) Not using the data and information obtained from other persons and institutions in scientific studies, to the extent and as permitted, not to respect the confidentiality of this information and to ensure its protection,
n) Making false or misleading statements regarding scientific research and publications in academic appointments and promotions.
• Authors must comply with copyright regulations for their intellectual and artistic works. When using previously published content, including images, tables or any other content in print or electronic format, authors must obtain permission from the copyright holder. All legal, financial and criminal liability in this matter belongs to the authors.
• Authors are obliged to participate in the referee evaluation process.
• In articles with more than one author, it is expected that all authors have contributed significantly to the research. Author (s) should correctly cite the sources they use in their articles and prepare their articles in accordance with the "Authors Guide (Writing Rules and Reference Formats)" determined by the journal.
• All authors are obliged to ensure that errors are withdrawn or corrected.
• Articles should not be submitted to a journal other than IJSI for simultaneous publication. Translations of articles published elsewhere are not accepted for publication in IJSI. Authors should be aware that the copyright of the materials contained in IJSI belongs to IJSI.
• Supporting persons, institutions or organizations and their contributions should be indicated in publications made as a result of research conducted with support.
• If the article is produced from the author's master's or doctoral thesis or a project, this should be stated in the article.
• IJSI does not charge author(s) for publishing at any stage.
• Author(s) should send the "Copyright Transfer Form" prepared for IJSI to the editors by e-mail after they receive the information that their articles have been accepted for publication.
Confidentiality Statement
All of the data (personal information such as names and last names of authors, email addresses, etc.) are solely to be used by the scholarly studies of the journal. This data is not to be used for other purposes or shared with third parties on any account.

Authors are responsible for the correctness of the references and suggestions in the articles. IJSI does not charge or pay any royalties to the authors for the articles it publishes. The electronic version of the journal is archived in DergiPark and indexes since 2008. In case the journal terminates the publication for any reason, the studies published in the past can be accessed from these platforms.

Seher Nur Sülkü received her PhD degree in Economics from Boston University, USA in 2007. Besides her academic career, she also worked at the Ministry of Health (MoH) of Turkey during the [2007, 2010]. During her assignment at the MoH, she worked as a manager in the Financial Burden Project of the Agency for Healthcare, Research and Quality (AHRQ),USA, prepared policy reports to senior policy makers and wrote a book examining the Turkish health sector. She has done several studies on health which were published in the leading journals. She is also on editorial board member of BMC Health Services Research Journal indexed in SSCI.
Safak's research interests lie in sociology of work, the changing nature of labour markets and employment relations with a particular focus on precarious work and vulnerable workers. Her research focuses on the labour standards in the global supply chains, working conditions and politics of worker opposition in the global garment industry looking at a supplier country (Turkey) with a focus on collective actions and social movements in their political and social context. One of the current research projects she is working on interrogates the veracity of the circular economy from an environmental, social and labour perspective and focusses upon global waste recycling supply chains and the the labour process that underpins the global recycling industry. Another international research project she is part of has a specific aim to understand the significance of garment industry structure and workforce diversity locally and globally.

Murat Genç's current research interests include estimating censored demand systems, using copulas in estimating sample selection models, and the analysis of international trade costs. His recent teaching areas are microeconomic theory and introductory econometrics.
Adnan Gerçek is a Professor of Fiscal Law at Bursa Uludağ University (Türkiye), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He is a member of the Turkish Tax Council and an editor of the International Journal of Public Finance. He received his Ph.D. in the public finance department at the Institute of Social Sciences, Bursa Uludağ University in 2001. His research focuses on tax law, tax system, tax administration, tax collection procedure, taxpayers’ rights, tax literacy, the discretionary power of tax administration, and the e-taxation system. Prof. Gerçek has authored numerous books, book chapters, articles, and reports.
He is Professor of Applied Statistics at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. He has academic publications on survey design and analysis. He has published numerous articles on structural equation modelling in national and international journals. His recent publications are in the areas of environmental concern, attitude, social media impact and investment attitude behaviour. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on survey design and analysis for many years. He has also taught courses in mathematical statistics. He has published LISREL and SmartPLS books on structural equation modelling.
International Advisory Board
1996 yılında yönetim ve çalışma psikoloji alanında doçent 2002 yılında da aynı alanda profesör oldu. Uludağ Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Çalışma Ekonomisi ve Endüstri ilişkileri bölümünde yönetim ve çalışma psikolojisi alanında uzun yıllar görev yaptı. 2021 yılında emekliliğini isteyerek Fenerbahçe Üniversitesi Psikoloji bölümünü kurdu. Halen aynı üniversitede psikoloji bölümünde çalışmalarına devam etmektedir.
1975 yılında Ankara'da doğdu. Namık Kemal İlk ve Ortaokulu'ndaki eğitimlerini takiben, lise eğitimini Ankara Atatürk Lisesi'nde tamamladı. 1997 yılında ise Gazi Ün., İ.İ.B.F., İşletme Bölümü'nden mezun oldu.
1998 yılında girdiği Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi (BUÜ), SBE'de İşletme YL Programı'ndaki eğitimine devam ederken, 1999 yılında AIESEC'in yurt dışı staj bursunu kazandı. Yine aynı sene, BUÜ'nün İ.İ.B.F., İşletme Bölümü'nde araştırma görevlisi olarak göreve başladı. Ardından, BUÜ, SBE, İşletme Anabilimdalı'nda 2001 yılında "sanal takımlar" üzerine hazırladığı teziyle YL derecesini aldı. YL eğitimini takiben aynı enstitüde, 2005 yılında "örgütsel değişim" konusu üzerine hazırladığı teziyle işletme doktoru unvanını aldı. Dr. Eryılmaz akademik kariyerinde ilerleyen yıllarda sırasıyla, 2009'da yardımcı doçent, 2011'de doçent ve 2017'de de profesör unvanlarını aldı.
Yoğun akademik çalışmalarına ilaveten fakültesine idari manada da hizmet etmeye gayret etti. Bu arzunun doğrultusunda, 2013-2015 yılları arasında çalıştığı fakültenin dekan yardımcısı olarak görev yaptı. Aynı dönemlerde üniversitenin "İ.İ.B.F." ve "İnegöl İşletme" fakültelerinin yönetim kurullarında da yer aldı.
Akademik bilgi ve tecrübesini ileriye taşıma arayışlarının neticesinde, 2017-2018 döneminde, bir yıl süreyle, "TÜBİTAK 2219 Yurt Dışı Doktora Sonrası Araştırma Bursu"yla İsveç'in Göteborg Ün., Göteborg Araştırma Enstitüsü'nde, Prof.Dr. Barbara Czarniawska nezaretinde "Bilginin Çevirisi Kuramı" üzerine araştırmalar yürüttü.
Dr. Eryılmaz 2009'dan bu yana BUÜ'de; lisans, YL ve doktora düzeylerinde dersler vermektedir. Ayrıca, geçmişte de Beykent Ün., İstanbul Ticaret Ün., Okan Ün. vb. muhtelif vakıf üniversitelerinde YL düzeyinde "Stratejik Yönetim" ve "Takım Çalışması ve Liderlik" dersleri vermiştir.
Son olarak; Dr. Eryılmaz'ın ilgi alanları "Dijital Dönüşüm", "Stratejik Yönetim", "Örgüt Kuramları" ve "Araştırma Teknikleri"dir. Kendisinin bu alanlarda 30'a yakın bilimsel makalesi, 20'ye yakın kitap bölümü, uluslararası ve ulusal kongrelerde sunulmuş 50 civarında tebliği vardır. Dr. Eryılmaz ayrıca 2015 yılında Ekin Yayınevi'nden çıkan "İşletme: Kuram ve Pratik", 2021 yılında Nobel Yayıncılık tarafından basılan "Dijital Dönüşümü İşletme Biliminin Gözlükleriyle Anlamak" kitaplarının editörlüğünü üstlenmiştir. Kendisi bir tanesi TÜBİTAK 1001 projesi olmak üzere, 5 bilimsel projede yürütücü-araştırmacı olarak yer almıştır. Halen "TESAM Akademi" ve "Uluslararası Yönetim Akademisi" dergilerinin alan editörlüğünü üstlenmekte ve "Başkent Ün. YAD"ın ise editörler kurulunda hizmet vermektedir.
Professor Dr. Mehmet Alpertunga Avci completed his undergraduate education in 2003, his master's degree in 2005, and his doctorate in 2012. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2017 and a Professor in 2022 at Atatürk University Faculty of Law, Department of Financial Law. Prof. Avci teaches courses in tax law, Turkish Tax System, stamp tax and fees, finance, public procurement law, audit law, budget law, and science education and ethics at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His main research interests include supreme audit, power of the purse, tax procedure, judgment, enforcement, penalty law, taxation, and the digital economy. Prof. Avci has numerous publications in Turkey and abroad and has also lectured as a guest lecturer at MUNI, Rzeszow, and Wloclawek University Law Faculties. He has researched various country capitals and cities such as Vienna, Berlin, Rome, Warsaw, Rzeszow, Prague, Brno, Budapest, and Bratislava. He has collaborated on academic activities and research with scholars from various universities in Central and Southern European regions. Currently, Prof. Avci is the Head of the Department of Public Law and the Department of Financial Law at Atatürk University Faculty of Law and serves as the Educational and Cultural Envoy of Atatürk University to Poland and Czechia. Professor Avci is proficient in both English and German languages.
Prof. Dr. A. Kadir ÇÜÇEN, 1961 yılında Erzurum'da doğdu. İlk, orta ve lise tahsilini İzmit'te tamamladı. 1985 yılında Ankara Üniversitesi, Dil ve Tarih-Coğrafya Fakültesi'nin Felsefe Bölümü'nü bitirdikten sonra Yüksek Lisans ve Doktora çalışmalarını Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'nde tamamladı. Doktora çalışmasını Alman felsefeci Martin Heidegger'in varlık kuramı üzerinde yaptı. 1993 yılında Türkiye’ye döndü. 1995'de Yardımcı Doçent ve 1997'de Doçent ve 2003’de Profesör oldu. Prof. Dr. A. Kadir ÇÜÇEN’in Mantık, Heidegger'de Varlık ve Zaman, Felsefeye Giriş, Orta Çağ Felsefesi Tarihi, Bilgi Felsefesi, Klasik Mantık, Liseler İçin Felsefe Ders Kitabı ve Liseler İçin Mantık Ders Kitabı adlı kitapları vardır. Yurt içinde çok sayıda sunduğu bildiri ve yazdığı makalelerinin yanı sıra Rusya ve ABD’inde Heidegger üzerine iki bildirisi; Rusya, Fransa ve ABD’inde yayınlanmış birer makalesi bulunmaktadır. 1999 yaz dönemi TÜBA burslusu olarak ABD’nin Duquesne Üniversitesi'nde teknoloji felsefesi üzerine araştırma yaptı. Halen Uludağ Üniversitesi, Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi, Felsefe Bölümü'nde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır. Evli ve bir çocuk baba¬sıdır.
