Journal of Optimization & Decision Making (JODM) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal which includes original scientific papers covering the full scope of operations research. Special emphasis is placed on quantitative methods and their application as a tool to solve economic, social and management problems. In particular, the articles published deal with the following subjects:

The papers presented contain substantial theoretical discussions concerning the methodology of operational research and decision making, as well as descriptions of quantitative methods and applications of these techniques to solving practical problems of an economic and social nature.

The journal observes a code of ethics based on academic standards. A basic element in fully understanding these ethical rules and abiding by them is reading the ethical standards of the journal.

The full texts of articles are freely available from the Journal of Optimization and Decision Making web site according to a Creative Commons Licence (CC BY-NC-ND).

The definitive version of the journal is the online version. The journal is published by the Industrial Engineering Department of AYBU.

The journal publishes manuscripts either in Turkish or in English.
Page Margins: Manuscripts should be prepared in a standard A4 page size (210mm * 297mm) with margins 30mm on the top and 25mm on the left, right and bottom. The manuscripts should be set in two-column format.
Font: Manuscript files should be provided in Microsoft Word format. All text of the manuscript should be written in Times New Roman; 12 pt. Paragraphs should start at the beginning of the line (no indent, no tab) and there should be 6 pt line spacing before each paragraph.
Manuscript, including abstract and references, should not exceed 8000 words in length.
Title: The title of the article should be written in 12 pt, each letters should be capitalized and the title should be centered on the page. The title should not be more than eighty characters.
Abstract: Abstracts are required for all manuscripts regardless of the language of the manuscript. Following the title, an abstract of 200 words, briefly stating the purpose and the results of the paper, should be included in the paper. Abstract should not include any references. It should be written in Times New Roman, 12 pt and italic.
Keywords: At the left side of the abstract, maximum of five keywords should be provided.
Introduction and Other Parts: Following the abstract, the manuscript should be divided into various sections starting with introduction section and should end with references.
Main (first level) headings must be in capital letters. Main and sub-headings should be numbered and left-aligned. Second level headings should be bold, and first letters of each word should be capitalized. Subsequent sub-headings should be italic. There should be one line spacing before each heading.

The JODM is a peer-reviewed journal published two times a year by Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University.

Manuscripts written in English or Turkish language are accepted.

Original research articles presenting detailed theoretical or practical content are published. Articles in this category are expected to bring a new dimension to the existing knowledge in the field of engineering or to contribute to extending knowledge in the field or to present a comprehensive practical application.

Technical notes, letters to the editor, discussion papers, case presentations and translations are not published in the journal.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not be published in any place or sent to any other journal for publication.

Manuscripts are evaluated by national and/or international referees. This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.

Articles uploaded to the journal are scanned with the iThenticate plagiarism package program before they are taken into the valuation process. For articles with a similarity rate of more than 20%, correction is requested from the author. If the required correction is not made within 10 days, the article is rejected.

Manuscripts which are rejected by the majority of the referees are rejected in accordance with the suggestion of the field editor.

The responsibility of the manuscript belongs to the respective authors. In order to comply with ethical standards, manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with internationally recognized code of ethics.

Only one article with the same author can be published within the same issue.

The copyright of the articles accepted to be published in the journal are transferred to the journal.

There are no manuscript submission fees or manuscript processing fees for the journal.

A conflict of interest and author contribution declaration are required for each article published within the journal.

There is no article submission, article-editorial processing, publication charges or any other charges.

All accepted articles are freely available online upon publication.
