Aim & Scope
To contribute to the field of Public Health Nursing literature and practice by publishing clinical and experimental studies, reviews, case reports or letters to the editor prepared in accordance with ethical rules.
Journal of Public Health Nursing is an open-access scientific journal that is published in line with the principles of double-blind review process. It is a publication of Public Health Nursing Association. The journal is published three times a year; in April, August and December. It is published in Turkish and English and it includes scientific research, reviews, case reports and letters to the editor that are related to the fields of Public Health Nursing.
Writing Rules
Journal of Public Health Nursing is an open access double-blinded international scientific journal. Journal of Public Health Nursing is the official journal of the Public Health Nursing Association. The journal is published three issues a year, in April, August, and December. The journal publishes Turkish and English articles. The journal includes scientific research, review, case report, and letter to the editor related to the fields of Public Health Nursing.
The aim of the journal is to contribute to the Public Health Nursing Literature and the field of practice by publishing original articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor prepared in accordance with ethical rules.
The evaluation of the articles is completed in 3 months on average. Accepted articles are published in an average of 6 months. For review articles, this period can be extended up to 1 year.

Open Access
Journal of Public Health Nursing is an open-access journal. All content of the Journal is offered free of charge to the reader. Article submission and article processing are carried out free of charge in the Journal of Public Health Nursing. No fee is charged from the authors.Audience
The target audience of the Journal of Public Health Nursing is national and international healthcare professionals, academics, and students working in all disciplines in the field of Public Health/Public Health Nursing and Nursing.Peer-Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to the journal are first evaluated technically in terms of compliance with the journal’s guidelines of the manuscript by the editorial office. Submissions not complying with the journal guidelines are returned to the submitting author with technical correction requests.Manuscripts that pass the technical evaluation process are subject to a double-blind peer-review process. At least two external independent referees who are experts in the field review manuscripts. The editor-in-chief determines the final decision on the Manuscripts. Anonymity must be maintained throughout the article (except for the title page and cover letter). No part of the manuscript should include the names of the authors and information about the institution of their work.
Copyright Agreement
Articles are freely available to read, download and share from the time of publication under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 International License.Journal of Public Health Nursing requires corresponding authors to submit a signed and scanned version of the Copyright Agreement and Acknowledgement of Authorship Form during the initial submission process.
Plagiarism
The submitted manuscript must not have been previously published in another electronic or printed journal, book, or other anywhere.Authors must check for the percentage of non-original material using anti-plagiarism software (eg. iThenticate, intihal.net ). Only submissions with <20% similarity can proceed to the technical control and peer review stages.
Ethical Principles
Journal of Public Health Nursing is a journal in which original studies are evaluated and published in line with scientific methods and ethical principles. Scientific ethical principles have an important place in the publication policy of our journal, and all parties participating (author, editor, reviewer, publisher, and reader) must comply with ethical principles as per our publication policy. Authorship
Journal of Public health nursing approves ICMJE criteria for Authorship. The ICMJE recommends that authorship be based on the following four criteria:1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
2. Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; AND
3. Final approval of the version to be published; AND
4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
All those designated as authors should meet all four criteria for authorship, and all who meet the four criteria should be identified as authors. Contributors who meet fewer than all 4 of the above criteria for authorship should not be listed as authors, but they should be acknowledged.
Sources of Funding
The name of the funding organization and the grant number should be given on the Title Page under the heading ‘Source of Funding’. If there was no funding, the following wording should be used: “This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”Conflict of Interest
Authors must make, disclosing any possible conflict of interest on the title page, under a sub-heading, Conflict of Interest. Tables should be numbered separately e.g., Table 1, Table 2, and a caption for each should be provided. Table titles should be written as capitalizing the first letter of the first word and leaving all other letters in lowercase. Tables should be referred to within the main text. Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Journal of Public Health Nursing is a journal in which original studies are evaluated and published in line with scientific methods and ethical principles. Scientific ethical principles have an important place in the publication policy of our journal, and all parties participating (author, editor, reviewer, publisher, and reader) must comply with ethical principles as per our publication policy. The ethical principles applied by our journal for editors, reviewers, and authors have been established by taking into account the guidelines prepared by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The ethical responsibilities of the parties are summarized below, based on the guidelines prepared by COPE.
Ethical Responsibilities of the Editor
The editor of the Public Health Nursing Journal ensures that every publication published in the journal is conducted according to ethical principles.Ethical responsibilities of the editor, assistant editor, and field editors;
• Informing reviewers, authors, and researchers about the journal's publication and ethical principles,
• Making preliminary evaluations of the articles submitted for publication in terms of compliance with the journal's publication policy, originality, contribution to the field and competencies,
• Being transparent and clear in issues that require correction or explanation.
• Evaluating all works submitted to the journal according to their fields and contents, not showing any privileges to any author for any reason,
• To determine the field editors and reviewers to be assigned to the articles in accordance with the field of study of the relevant publication, to encourage the reviewers to evaluate them in a timely and impartial manner,
• Carefully conducting the double-blind evaluation process between the reviewers and the author,
• To intervene in cases where there is a conflict of interest between the reviewers and the author,
• Conducting the processes to improve the quality of the studies published in the journal.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
All articles in the Journal of Public Health Nursing are evaluated with a double-blinded system. The authors do not have information about the reviewers who evaluated the article, nor the reviewers about the authors of the article. Communication between the author and the reviewer is provided by the editors.
The ethical responsibilities of reviewers;
• Not evaluating the studies that are not within the field of expertise, not accepting the evaluation only to have an idea about the subject of the article, even though they are not specialized,
• Evaluating within the framework of impartiality and confidentiality,
• When faced with a situation such as a conflict of interest, refusing to make an assessment and reporting this situation to the editor,
• Evaluating the studies objectively within a certain time frame, taking into account the time required for the editor's decision-making process,
• Making the evaluation objectively only related to the content of the study,
• Guiding to increase the quality of the article to be published,
• To protect the confidentiality of the information provided by the editor and the author, to be sensitive about the fact that factors such as religion, belief, sect, race, gender, and political opinion do not affect the evaluation process.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors;
The authors who submit their studies to the Journal of Public Health Nursing are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:• Not having studies submitted to the Journal of Public Health Nursing in the application process of more than one journal at the same time,
• Not submitting a study published in another journal to the Journal of Public Health Nursing,
• Writing articles in accordance with scientific research method and report writing principles,
• The studies submitted by the authors should be original and when they benefit from other studies, they must refer to or cite them completely and accurately.
• Being ready to present raw data and information to the editorial and scientific board, in case such data is requested from the author(s) within the framework of the evaluation process,
• Author responsibilities given in a study (e.g.: adding an author, reordering of author names, excluding author(s)) whose review process has begun cannot be changed,
If the studies submitted to be published are subject to conflicting interests or relations, these must be explained.
• Not specifying the supporting persons, institutions, or organizations and their contributions in the publications made as a result of researches conducted with support.
*Ethics Committee Approval is required for research articles.
