Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Publication Ethics
A number of ethical policies have been developed by the Editorial Board in order to ensure that the studies published in Kırşehir Ahi Evran University Faculty of Education Journal (KEFAD) are unbiased and ethical. These policies cover authors, reviewers, editors and study-related processes. The ethical duties and responsibilities in KEFAD have been prepared by taking into account the publication policies of nationally and internationally scanned journals and the guidelines and policies published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) as open access.

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Author(s) who submit studies to KEFAD are expected to comply with the following ethical responsibilities:
• The works submitted by the author(s) are expected to be original and up-to-date. Author(s) are required to fully and accurately cite and/or quote all studies they use.
• Individuals who do not contribute to the content of the study should not be listed as authors. Situations and relationships that may constitute a conflict of interest (if any) should be disclosed.
• Raw data regarding their articles may be requested from the author(s) within the framework of the evaluation processes. Author(s) must submit the requested data and information to the publication and/or scientific committee.
• If the author(s) notices a mistake or mistake regarding their published work, which is under evaluation, they have the obligation to inform the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate with the editor in correcting or withdrawing their work.
• Authors cannot submit their works to the application process of more than one journal at the same time.
• A study published in another journal cannot be sent to KEFAD.

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Studies sent to KEFAD are sent anonymously to at least two reviewers in the relevant field for evaluation. In reviewer asssessment, in case of equal positive and negative opinions about the article, the opinion of the editor or a third reviewer is taken.

In KEFAD, a double-blind peer review process is adopted, the author and the referee are unaware of each other's identity. In this context, referees who assess studies at KEFAD are expected to have the following ethical responsibilities:

• Reading KEFAD's publishing principles
• Agreeing to evaluate only studies related to the field of expertise. Not accepting evaluation just to have an idea about the subject of the article, even though it is not an area of expertise,
• Refusing to make an assessment when they realize that they cannot be impartial while making the evaluation,
• Completing the assesment process within a certain time frame,
• To make assessment within the framework of impartiality and confidentiality,
• Refusing to make an assessment when faced with a situation such as a conflict of interest and reporting this situation to the editor,
• Notifying the editor when they detect that the article they are evaluating has been sent to another journal at the same time,
• Making the evaluation constructively and politely. Not making personal comments such as hostility, insults and slander,
• Making sure that the evaluations are related to the content of the article. To be sensitive in ensuring that factors such as belief, sect, race, gender, political opinion do not affect the evaluation process.

1. Articles submitted for publication in KEFAD must not have been published or submitted for publication in another journal. Papers previously presented at a congress - provided that the entire work has not been published in the congress book - and articles compiled from a graduate thesis should include the necessary information as an author's note in the title after the discussion. All responsibility for the published articles belongs to the author(s).
• Authors are required to obtain "Ethics Committee Approval" for their work.

Notifying the Editor of a Situation That Does Not Comply with Ethical Principles
Editors, reviewers or authors; If they encounter an unethical situation regarding an article in the evaluation process, early version or published, they must notify the editor by sending an e-mail to ahikefad@gmail.com.

Publication Policy
KEFAD can include at most one academic study of an author in each issue.

Reviewing and Publication Processes

2. Studies reaching the journal are pre-examined by the Editorial Board in terms of compliance with the journal scope and writing rules. Studies deemed appropriate as a result of this review are submitted to the assessment of at least two reviewers using the blind reviewer method. Reviewers are given 30 days to make an assessment and a new reviewer is appointed to replace the reviewer who does not respond within this period. In order for the candidate study to be published in the journal, it must receive positive opinions from at least two reviewers. If one of the reviewersexpresses a positive opinion and the other gives a negative opinion, the study is submitted to the opinion of a third reviewer. The author(s) are obliged to make corrections suggested by the reviewer(s) (if any) within 30 days. Articles that receive a publishable report from the reviewer(s) and are checked by the journal editorship enter the publication process. The final format of the articles is given by the author(s). Articles accepted for publication are given a DOI number and these articles are placed in the Early View section. They are then published in an appropriate issue by the decision of the Editorial Board. No changes can be made to articles that have been finalized and taken into the publication process. Authors may withdraw their work while it is in the pre-flight stage. Author(s) may withdraw/withdraw their unpublished work while they are in the assessment process.

3. The referee(s) does not have information about the identity of the author(s), and the author(s) does not have information about the identity of the reviewer(s). The responsibility for ensuring confidentiality on this matter belongs to the journal editor.

Plagiarism

All candidate articles must be scanned with software such as iThenticate© and Turnitin© before being sent to KEFAD, and these scanning reports must be submitted together with the article. The similarity rate of the entire article must be less than 20% and the similarity rate for one source must be less than 3%. However, it would be to the benefit of the author(s) to carefully examine the similarities above 1%. KEFAD has the right to reject all candidate articles that contain academic plagiarism at the editorial stage.
