Gastronomi Temelli Kültürel Miras Deneyimi, Bireylerin Aidiyet Duygusunu ve Kültürel Kimlik Oluşumunu Destekler Mi?

Abstract

Gastronomi, bir milletin sahip olduğu önemli kültürel miras unsurlarından biridir. Turistik çekicilik oluşturarak bireylerin kendi kültürlerine yönelik bilgi ve aidiyetlerinin gelişimine katkı sağlar. Bu noktada araştırmanın amacı, gastronomi temelli kültürel miras deneyiminin bireylerin toplumsal aidiyet ve kültürel kimlik oluşumları üzerinde nasıl bir rol üstlendiğini tespit etmektir. Bu soruya yanıt üretebilmek için bir araştırma modeli tasarlanmış ve buna bağlı olarak hipotezler geliştirilmiştir. Bilimsel veriler, anket tekniğinden yararlanılarak gastronomi temelli kültürel miras deneyimi olan 145 bireyden elde edilmiştir. Temel istatiksel analizler IBM SPSS ile yürütülürken araştırma modeli ve hipotezlerin testleri ise SmartPLS 4 yazılımı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular, bireylerin gastronomi temelli kültürel miras deneyimlerinin aidiyet duygularını %45 (R2=0,45), aidiyet duygularının ise kültürel kimlik algılamalarını %56 (R2=0,56) oranında açıkladığını göstermektedir. Aracılık etkisi bakımından ise duygusal (β=0,22) ve kültürel deneyimlerin (β=0,24), aidiyet duygusu aracılığıyla bireylerin kültürel kimlik oluşumunu dolaylı olarak etkilediği tespit edilmiştir. Buna karşın bilişsel deneyimin ise dolaylı etkisi anlamlı bulunmamıştır (β=0,07). Sonuç olarak gastronomi temelli kültürel miras deneyimleri, bireylerin aidiyet duyguları ve kültürel kimlik oluşumlarını açıkça desteklemektedir. Bu açıdan sonuçlar, hem gastronomi ve turizm literatürüne teorik katkılar sağlamakta hem de kültürel mirasın önemine ilişkin bakış açılarını güçlendirmektedir

Does a Gastronomy-Based Cultural Heritage Experience Support Individuals' Sense of Belonging and the Formation of Cultural Identity?

Abstract

Gastronomy is one of the important cultural heritage elements of a nation. It contributes to the development of individuals' knowledge and belonging towards their own culture by creating touristic attraction. At this point, the aim of the research is to determine what role gastronomy-based cultural heritage experience plays on individuals' social belonging and cultural identity formation. In order to answer this question, a research model was designed and hypotheses were developed accordingly. Scientific data were obtained from 145 individuals with gastronomy-based cultural heritage experience using the survey technique. Basic statistical analyses were conducted with IBM SPSS, while the research model and hypotheses were tested with SmartPLS 4 software. The findings show that individuals' gastronomy-based cultural heritage experiences explain their sense of belonging by 45% (R2=0.45) and their sense of belonging explains their cultural identity perceptions by 56% (R2=0.56). In terms of mediation effect, it was found that emotional (β=0.22) and cultural experiences (β=0.24) indirectly affect individuals' cultural identity formation through sense of belonging. On the other hand, the indirect effect of cognitive experience was not significant (β=0.07). As a result, gastronomy-based cultural heritage experiences clearly support individuals' sense of belonging and cultural identity formation. In this respect, the results both provide theoretical contributions to the gastronomy and tourism literature and strengthen perspectives on the importance of cultural heritage.
