KÄSTNER'İN UÇAN SINIF ESERİNİ LİDERLİK EĞİTİMİ BAĞLAMINDA OKUMAK

Öz

Okuma yeterliliği ile kazanılan üst düzey bilişsel ve duyuşsal edinimler, çocukların dil yetisini, eylemlerini ve kendi kaderini tayin etmesini etkiler ve davranışa dönüşür. Okuma yerliliğine sahip okurlar okuma eylemi ile eğitim de almış olurlar. Çalışmada Kästner'in Uçan Sınıf adlı eseri liderlik eğitimi bağlamında okunması amaçlanmıştır. Alt problem olarak Uçan Sınıf adlı eserde lider karakterlerin Northouse’un liderlik özelliklerinden hangilerine sahip olduklarını tespit etmektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri Northouse’un liderlik özelliklerinden; zekâ, özgüven, kararlılık, dürüstlük ve cesaretlilik özelliklerinden oluşturulan veri toplama formuyla toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler betimsel analize göre analiz edilmiştir. Bulgularda ana kahraman olan Martin Thaler’in zekâ, özgüven, kararlılık, dürüstlük ve cesaretlilik özelliklerine sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Rakibi ortaokul öğrencilerinin lideri Egerland’ın ise sadece cesaret, özgüven ve dürüstlük lider özelliklerine sahip olduğu tesbit edilmiştir. Okul romanı okuma yeterliği çerçevesinde okunduğunda Martin Thaler’in tüm liderlik özelliklerini kişiliğinde bulundurması onun liderliğinin etkili, başarılı ve iyi olmasına neden olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Egerland’ın ise zeki olmayışı, yeterince cesaret ve kararlı olmayışı onun liderliğinin başarısız olmasına neden olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak okuma yeterliliğine sahip çocuk, okuma yoluyla bir liderin sahip olması gereken liderlik özelliklerinin neler olduğunu, edebi metin üzerinden sunulan gerçekçi yaşam kesitleri üzerinden öğrenmiş olabilecektir. Erich Kästner’in Uçan Sınıf adlı okul romanındaki lider karakterler farklı liderlik özellikleri açısından incelenebilir.

READING KÄSTNER'S FLYING CLASSROOM IN THE CONTEXT OF LEADERSHIP TRAINING

Abstract

The high-level cognitive and affective acquisitions gained through reading proficiency affect children's language ability, actions and self-determination, and thus behavior. Readers with reading competence also receive education through the act of reading. In this study, it is aimed to read Kästner's The Flying Classroom in the context of leadership education. As a sub-problem, it is to determine which of Northouse's leadership characteristics the leading characters in the Flying Classroom have. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The data of the study were collected with a data collection form created from Northouse's leadership traits; intelligence, self-confidence, determination, honesty and courage. The collected data were analyzed according to descriptive analysis. In the findings, it was determined that the main protagonist Martin Thaler had the characteristics of intelligence, self-confidence, determination, honesty and courage. His rival Egerland, the leader of the middle school students, was found to possess only courage, self-confidence and honesty. When the school novel is read within the framework of reading competence, it is understood that Martin Thaler's possession of all leadership characteristics in his personality causes his leadership to be effective, successful and good. On the other hand, Egerland's lack of intelligence, courage and determination caused his leadership to fail. As a result, the child with reading competence will be able to learn what leadership qualities a leader should have through realistic life sections presented through literary texts. The leader characters in Erich Kästner's school novel The Flying Classroom can be analyzed in terms of different leadership characteristics.
