Abstract
Environmental problems (climate change, pollution, waste, etc.), the depletion of resources, and overconsumption have paved the way for new searches in architecture. One of them is their use of waste in buildings. This study aimed to reveal the design inputs of the use of waste materials in buildings. For this purpose, 10 building examples where waste materials turn into building materials were chosen. In the examples, firstly, whether the waste is a building material or not, the type of material and the way of its acquisition, the place of use in the new building and its area, and the place of the material in the design were determined. Generalizations about the waste material were reached on the diagram created based on the determinations. When we use waste materials in buildings, ween sure of their life cycle and offer designers the opportunity to create unique products.
