Mesned Journal of Theological Studies does not ask the authors of the articles to transfer their copyrights. The authors (or their employers) retain the copyright in the article. All we ask of the authors is to accept the publication under the CC BY-NC license. All articles published by the Mesned Journal of Theological Studies (regardless of who funded the research) are published as open-access and their reuse is permitted by the CC BY-NC open-access license terms.
The authors own the copyright of their work published in the Journal of Mesned Theological Studies, and their work is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). While the authors upload their works to the online system of our journal, they read the Copyright Agreement stated below and upload a wet-signed copy to the journal system.

Open-Access is when publications are freely available to anyone online with few restrictions on reuse. The unrestricted dissemination of research is especially important to authors, readers and funders. In this context;
- While Mesned Journal of Theological Studies continued to publish under the CC-BY-NC ND license between 2019-2022, by the decision of the editorial board, it started to publish all academic articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license as of 2022.
- Mesned Journal of Theological Studies believes that for open-access to work effectively, user rights and copyright ownership must be clear through licensing.
- Mesned Journal of Theological Studies has signed the Budapest Open Access Declaration.
- We publish all our articles under Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial (CC BY-NC 4.0). These license articles allow the author and any non-commercial organization to reuse them for non-commercial use, subject to the CC-BY-NC license. However, for commercial users or commercial use, permission must be obtained from the Journal of Theological Studies.
