Writing Rules

ARTICLES

  • The article should not exceed 9000 words, including the Abstract, Footnotes and Bibliography.
  • The text font should be Palatino Linotype and its size should be 10 points and footnotes should be 8 points.
  • An extended summary of 500-750 words is requested in the published language and foreign language of the submitted works (Turkish and English for Turkish works, Arabic and Turkish extended abstracts for Arabic works).
  • In the citation and bibliography writing of the articles published in our journal, the Isnad2 Citation System, which is compatible with The Chicago Manual of Style, is used.
  • In the studies submitted to our journal, the Brill Encyclopedia should be taken as a basis in the English writing of the concepts belonging to the field of Theology.
  • All manuscripts submitted to our journal should be adapted to the article template. Article Writing Template
  • The Zotero application is recommended to adapt the references in your works by the Isnad2 Citation System, accurately and actively.
  • The bibliographies of Arabic studies submitted to our journal should be Latinized.
  • In all studies, the text should be written in the Microsoft Office Word program.

The order of article items should be as follows:

  1. Turkish Title
  2. English Title
  3. Citation Information
  4. Self
  5. Keywords
  6. Abstract
  7. Keywords
  8. Body Text
  9. Conclusion
  10. Source

TRANSLATIONS

  • Article writing rules apply for translations.
    Moreover;
  • The translator should certify that he has obtained permission from the author of the text and the organization that published the work. (At this point, the responsibility lies entirely with the translator.)
  • The name and information of the translator should be written in the translation.
  • The translation title should be the title of the translated text.
  • All of the original text must be translated. (Translations written by selection are not published by our journal.)
  • The type of the translated text (article, book chapter, paper, etc.) should be added at the end of the translation title and the tag of the text according to the ISNAD Citation System should be added at the end of the page.
  • Regardless of the citation system used in the original text, footnotes must comply with the ISNAD Citation System. 
  • Tables and Figures should be arranged in accordance with the ISNAD Citation System. Table content texts should be written in Palatino Linotype Normal font, 10 point size; must be aligned on both sides. 
  • Abstract, keywords, abstract and keywords should be given as they are in the original text. If they are not in the text, Abstract and Abstract, Keywords and keywords of 250-500 words should be added.

Articles Produced from PhD Thesis

Spelling rules apply for articles produced from doctoral thesis.
If the article will be published before the acceptance of the thesis; 

  • The "innovation" feature of the doctoral thesis should be preserved. 
  • Since the article is a separate publication type and the thesis is a separate publication type, the differences between the two should be preserved. 
  • If cited, it should be specified. 
  • Duplication (sending or publishing the same results of a study to more than one journal for publication) should not be. 

BOOK REVIEWS

Article writing rules apply for Book Reviews.
Moreover; 

  • An Abstract and an Abstract of 150-250 words should be included.
  • Book Reviews should be between 500-1500 words.
  • If an explanation will be made at the end of the page for the Book Evaluation title, the * sign should be used.

In the submitted studies, the problem, purpose, method used, scope and processes of the research should be clearly stated.

ARTİCLES PRODUCED FROM DOCTORAL THESİS

Writing rules apply for articles produced from doctoral thesis.

If the article will be published before the thesis is accepted;

The "novelty" feature of the doctoral thesis must be preserved.

  • Since the article is a separate publication type and the thesis is a separate publication type, the distinction between the two should be preserved.
  • If a reference is made, it should be stated.
  • There should be no duplication (sending or publishing the same results of a research to more than one journal).
  • In articles produced from theses, regardless of the contribution of the advisor;
    - Writing the name of the thesis advisor
    - The phrase "produced from a thesis" must be added.

SYMPOSIUM EVALUATIONS
Article writing rules apply for Symposium Evaluations.
Moreover;

  • An Abstract and an Abstract of 150-250 words should be included.
  • Symposium Reviews should be between 500-1500 words.
  • If an explanation will be made at the end of the page for the Symposium Evaluation title, * should be used.

INTERVIEW EVALUATIONS
Article writing rules apply for Interview Evaluations.
Moreover;

  • An Abstract and an Abstract of 150-250 words should be included.
  • Interview Reviews should be between 500-1500 words.
  • If an explanation will be made at the end of the page for the Interview Evaluation title, the * sign should be used.

In submitted studies, the research problem, purpose, method used, scope and research processes must be clearly stated.
