The Mediterranean Journal of Humanities (MJH) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. Accordingly, all submissions to the journal are subject to plagiarism detection and must be accompanied by a similarity report.
1. Similarity Report
To verify the originality of submissions, MJH uses internationally recognized plagiarism detection software such as iThenticate, Turnitin and intihal.net.
During the submission process, when the full-text file is uploaded to the system, it is automatically screened through intihal.net.
Report generation may take several minutes; once completed, authors will receive a notification via email.
2. Acceptable Similarity Rate
The acceptable overall similarity rate for manuscripts is generally no higher than 15%.
Submissions exceeding this rate will be carefully evaluated by the editorial board. If necessary, the manuscript may be returned to the author(s) for revision or rejected.
3. Authors’ Responsibilities
By submitting to MJH, authors affirm that their manuscripts are original and free from plagiarism.
In cases where multiple files are uploaded, all generated similarity reports will be reviewed by the editors.
Authors must ensure proper citation of all sources, accurately acknowledge quotations, and comply with ethical standards of academic writing.
4. Compliance with Publishing Ethics
MJH’s plagiarism policy is aligned with the international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
If plagiarism or any form of ethical misconduct is detected, the manuscript will be immediately removed from the review process. If discovered after publication, the article will be retracted and the case publicly announced. Authors found in violation will be prohibited from submitting to MJH for a period of five years.
