Dear Academics and Researchers,

Mukaddime is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (May and November) since May 2010 by the Graduate School of Mardin Artuklu University (formerly the Institute of Social Sciences). The journal is published electronically.

We are planning to publish a special issue in August 2026 titled “The Concept of Death: From Image to Reality, From Past to Future.” The guest editor of this special issue will be Dr. Şakire Çelik (Assistant Professor). In this issue, the concept of “death” will be examined from image to reality and from past to future. The notion of death will be traced in works written in Turkish, Arabic, Kurdish, and other languages; the theme of “death” in both classical and modern works (literature, linguistics, philosophy, etc.) will be explored.

Following the peer-review process, the special issue will be published in August. Designed with a broad perspective, the issue will accept articles primarily in English, Turkish, and Kurdish, as well as in other languages.

Academics and researchers who wish to contribute to this collaborative issue are kindly requested to submit their manuscripts by April 15, 2026, via the Mukaddime Journal page on DergiPark, selecting the “Concept of Death” Special Issue section. When submitting their manuscripts, authors must ensure that they activate the option “I would like to submit my article to the special issue.” Articles submitted outside the scope of the theme will not be considered. Manuscripts that successfully complete the peer-review process will be published on July 15, 2026.
