Ali Onur Özçelik is a Professor and full-time Lecturer in the Department of International Relations at Eskişehir Osmangazi University. He holds an MA in Transatlantic Relations from the University of Birmingham and a PhD in Politics from the University of Sheffield. His earlier work has focused on Europeanization and multi-level governance, particularly in the context of Turkish subnational administrations.
Professor Özçelik’s research interests encompass the politics of non-state actors, transnational social movements, diplomacy practiced by non-state and partially recognized actors, and the European Union’s Neighborhood Policy. In recent years, his scholarship has expanded to include themes such as globalization, the transformation of world order, and the rise of transactionalism in international relations.
He is the co-editor of three academic volumes: The World Community and the Arab Spring (Palgrave Macmillan), EU Conditionality in Turkey: When Does It Work? When Does It Fail? (Rowman & Littlefield), and Reconfiguring EU Peripheries: Political Elites, Contestation and Geopolitical Shifts (Helsinki University Press). Professor Özçelik has also been actively involved in several EU- and UN-funded research and youth projects, reflecting his sustained engagement with transnational governance and global policy processes.

Baris Alpaslan is a Professor of Economics at the Social Sciences University of Ankara. Prof. Alpaslan also holds a number of administrative roles at different levels in the same university. Prof. Alpaslan completed an MSc (with an award of distinction) and then a PhD in Economics at the University of Manchester. Prof. Alpaslan has multiple institutional affiliations with well-known research centres in the UK, Australia, Japan, as well as in Egypt. Prof. Alpaslan is a Vice President of the Committee of Experts on the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals at the Turkish National Commission for UNESCO. Prof. Alpaslan has undertaken consultancy services for several international organisations, such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, and International Centre for Migration Policy Development. Prof. Alpaslan has recently been appointed Chief Advisor to Chairman of the Executive Board at IC Holding. Prof. Alpaslan was a finalist for the Science and Sustainability Award category in the 2023-24 British Council Study UK Alumni Awards. His research interests focus broadly on the macroeconomics of growth, inequality and development. 

Adnan Gerçek is a Professor of Fiscal Law at Bursa Uludağ University (Türkiye), Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He is a member of the Turkish Tax Council and an editor of the International Journal of Public Finance. He received his Ph.D. in the public finance department at the Institute of Social Sciences, Bursa Uludağ University in 2001. His research focuses on tax law, tax system, tax administration, tax collection procedure, taxpayers’ rights, tax literacy, the discretionary power of tax administration, and the e-taxation system. Prof. Gerçek has authored numerous books, book chapters, articles, and reports.

Lisans eğitimini 2014-2019 yılları arasında Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi bölümünde tamamlamıştır. Akabinde Ankara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı Kent ve Çevre Politikaları Bilim Dalı'nda yüksek lisans eğitimine başlamış, 2022 yılında mezun olmuştur. 2022'den bu yana Ankara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı Kent, Çevre ve Yerel Yönetim Politikaları Bilim Dalı'nda doktora eğitimine devam etmektedir. 2020 yılından beri Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi Siyaset Bilimi ve Kamu Yönetimi Bölümü Kentleşme ve Çevre Sorunları Anabilim Dalı'nda Araştırma Görevlisi olarak görev yapmaktadır.
