The Turkish Geographical Review is the scientific publication of the Turkish Geographical Society and was first published in 1943 to share the scientific work of Turkish geographers with the international scientific community. The journal continued to be published, sometimes continuously and sometimes intermittently, until its 26th issue in 1974. After that date, it was not possible to publish the journal for 18 years. The Turkish Geographical Review returned to publication in 1992 with its 27th issue. It became a peer-reviewed journal in 1999 and began publishing twice a year in 2001.
