The Association of Accounting and Finance Academicians (MUFAD) was established in late 1998 as an association of accounting and finance academicians working at universities across Türkiye. From 1999 to 2011, under the leadership of its founding president, the late Prof. Dr. Oktay Güvemli, the Association carried out its activities and published the Journal of Accounting and Finance in print format. Since 2011, the chairmanship of the Association’s executive board has been held by Prof. Dr. Ümit Gücenme Gençoğlu. Following the change in both the executive board and the editorial board, the journal began to be published electronically starting from the April 2011 issue. Published quarterly, the Journal of Accounting and Finance is indexed by TUBITAK-ULAKBIM (Social Sciences Database), EBSCOhost (Business Source Complete), ASOS Index, Index Copernicus, and, since February 2016, ProQuest databases. The journal adheres to the principle of maintaining publication standards consistent with the requirements of international indexing services. MUFAD aims to be the collective voice of academicians from all regions of the country, to bring them together, to facilitate the sharing of their research, and to strengthen professional relationships through the events it organizes. The Association places great importance on embracing all academicians without distinction, contributing to the advancement of accounting and finance sciences, and keeping scholars and research assistants informed of global developments accurately and promptly. Since its establishment, MUFAD has actively collaborated with universities and professional chambers in various scientific events. With its internationally experienced members, the Association has represented Türkiye in numerous international activities. Notably, in 2007, MUFAD co-organized the Conference on Accounting and Auditing in Balkan Countries with Trakya University in Edirne. In 2008, with the contributions of Marmara University and Afyon Kocatepe University, the 12th World Congress of Accounting Historians was successfully hosted in Türkiye. In 2010, MUFAD, in collaboration with Trakya University, organized the 2nd Conference on Accounting and Auditing History of Balkan and Middle Eastern Countries in Istanbul. Furthermore, detailed information on the International Accounting and Finance Symposiums and the Accounting and Auditing Standards Workshops, which have been organized by MUFAD since 2012, can be found on our website under the section titled “Our Events” (Etkinliklerimiz). |
