Author Guidelines

For studies requiring ethics committee approval, the ethics committee approval document must be uploaded to the system as a supplementary file.

 

WRİTİNG RULES

ABSTRACT

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must include both Turkish and English abstracts, consisting of a minimum of 150 and a maximum of 250 words. Abstracts should be written in 9-point font. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 keywords must be provided in both Turkish and English. The first letter of each keyword should be capitalized, and all keywords must be written in italics.

TEXT

The language of the studies must be either Turkish or English.

Manuscripts should be submitted in MS-Word document format.

It is mandatory to use the journal template during the preparation of the work, and submissions must strictly adhere to this template.

Manuscripts, including appendices and the bibliography, should be between a minimum of 3,500 and a maximum of 10,000 words or a maximum of 30 pages in length.

The page layout must be set with margins of 1.7 cm for the top, left, bottom, and right.

Articles should be written in 11-point Times New Roman font, using single line spacing and justified alignment.

No indentation should be used at the beginning of paragraphs; however, a 6-pt spacing must be applied before and after each paragraph. No additional blank lines should be left between paragraphs.

The manuscript must not contain any information identifying the author(s).

Italic font may be used for emphasis within the text.

Direct quotations must be presented in italics and enclosed within quotation marks.

Authors should not include page numbers in the submitted manuscript.

TİTLES

The title of the study must be placed on the first page, centered, in 12-point, bold font, with only the first letters capitalized.

Section headings and subheadings must be 12-point, bold, and left-aligned.

Subheadings must be written in italics.

Excluding the introduction and conclusion sections, the heading numbers and subheadings must proceed in the format of 1., 1.1, 1.1.1., 1.1.2., and so on.

The first letter of every word in all section headings and subheadings must be capitalized, with the remaining letters in lowercase.

No space should be left following the section headings.

TABLES AND FIGURES

All tables and figures in the study should be numbered sequentially as 1, 2, 3… where necessary within the text. 

Image titles should be written on the image itself, with the first letter capitalized, in 10-point, italic font, single-spaced, and centered.

Text within tables, figures, and graphs should be between 8-10 points.

Image sources should be written immediately below the tables in 8-point font. The source table below the image should have a 3nk spacing, and the following paragraph should also have a 3nk spacing.

BIBLIOGRAPHY AND IN-TEXT CITATIONS

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA 7th Edition) style for the reference system, footnote formatting, and bibliographic arrangement. In this context, citations should be made within the text using the parenthetical method. In-text references must follow the author-date-page number format.

IN-TEXT CITATIONS

In-text citations must include the author's(s') surname, the publication year of the source, and the page number. For works with two authors, "ve" should be used between the authors' names in Turkish articles, while "&" should be used in English articles. For works with three or more authors, the surname of the first author should be written first, followed by "vd." in Turkish articles and "et al." in English articles.

  • Citation for single-author publications: (Altan, 2011, p. 15).
  • Citation for two-author publications: (Tuna & Yalçıntaş, 1997, p. 17).
  • Citation for three or more author publications: (Bilgin et al., 2007, p. 45).
  • Citing multiple sources: (İzveren, 1970, p. 5; Koray, 2008, p. 78; Şenkal, 2007, p. 2).
  • Citing a secondary source: (Törüner, 1992, as cited in Korkmaz & Mahiroğulları, 2007, p. 19).

If a group with an abbreviation is used as the author name, the full name is provided in the first citation, whereas the abbreviation is used in subsequent citations. For groups without abbreviations, there is no difference between the first and subsequent citations.

  • First citation for a group with an abbreviated author name: (International Labour Organization [ILO], 2022).
  • Subsequent citation for a group with an abbreviated author name: (ILO, 2022).

If the citation is taken from a website and the author is identified, the citation should be made in a manner similar to periodical publications. If no date is provided for a source downloaded from the internet, the access date to the relevant file should be used as the publication year. If the author of the citation is not identified, the name of the institution managing the website and the year of access should be written in parentheses.

  • Citation with a known author and publication year: (Civan & Gökalp, 2011).
  • Citation with an unknown author and publication year: (Directorate General of Migration Management, 2020).

*If multiple works by the same author published in the same year are cited, the works should be indicated by adding letters such as a, b, c next to the year.

  • (Sapancalı, 2005a, p. 85).
  • (Sapancalı, 2005b, p. 45).

*In narrative citations where the author's name appears within the sentence, "ve" should be used for works with two authors in Turkish articles, while "and" should be used in English articles. For works with three or more authors, the first author's surname should be written first, followed by "vd." in Turkish articles and "et al." in English articles.

KAYNAKÇA

Kaynakça, çalışmada kullanılan ve alıntı yapılan tüm kaynakları içermeli ve APA 7. Baskı stiline göre yazarların soyadlarına göre alfabetik sırayla düzenlenmelidir. Makalede kullanılan kaynaklar, kalite ayrımı yapılmaksızın yazarın soyadına göre alfabetik olarak listelenmelidir. Aynı yazara ait eserler, kaynakçada "en eski tarihten" başlayarak yerleştirilmelidir. Kaynakçada, dergi adı hariç tüm yayınlar (makale başlığı, kitap başlığı, bölüm başlığı, tez başlığı vb.) için, başlığın ilk harfi büyük harfle, diğerleri ise özel isimler veya kısaltmalar olmadıkça küçük harfle yazılmalıdır. Dergi adı için, her kelimenin ilk harfi büyük harfle yazılmalıdır.

Kaynakça başlığının ilk harfi büyük harfle, diğer harfleri ise küçük harfle yazılmalı ve sola hizalanmalıdır. Kaynakça başlığından önce ve sonra 6 punto boşluk bırakılmalı ve tek satır aralığıyla yazılmalıdır.
Kaynakçada yer alan kaynaklar 11 punto, tek satır aralıklı, iki yana hizalı, öncesinde ve sonrasında 6 punto boşluk bırakılarak ve asılı girinti kullanılarak yazılmalıdır.
Kaynakça, aşağıda verilen örneklere uygun olarak hazırlanmalıdır.
