Parental Involvement and Sport Commitment in Student-Athletes: A Structural Model of the Mediating Role of Dual Career Competency
Abstract
Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the structural relationships among parental involvement, dual career competency, and sport commitment in academy football players. Materials and Methods: Materials and Methods: A total of 485 male athletes aged 14–18 years, actively participating in professional club academies, were included in the study. The Youth Sport Parental Support Questionnaire, Sport Commitment Questionnaire-2, and Dual Career Competency Questionnaire for Athletes were used to assess parental involvement, dual career competency, and sport commitment levels. Data were collected on a voluntary basis, and SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 24.0 software were used during the analysis process. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to examine the direct and indirect relationships among the variables. Results: The results indicated that parental involvement significantly and positively predicted all dimensions of dual career competency as well as sport commitment. Within the model, dual career management and career planning demonstrated the strongest indirect effects. Furthermore, the direct relationship between parental involvement and sport commitment remained significant, indicating that dual career competency played a partial mediating role in this relationship. The proposed model explained a substantial proportion of the variance in sport commitment. Conclusion: The findings suggest that supportive parental involvement plays a significant role in enhancing adolescent athletes’ sport commitment by strengthening their dual career competencies.

Ergen Sporcularda Ebeveyn Katılımı ve Spora Bağlılık: Çift Kariyer Yetkinliğinin Aracı Rolünü İnceleyen Yapısal Bir Model
Abstract
Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, akademi futbolcularında ebeveyn katılımı, çift kariyer yetkinliği ve spora bağlılık arasındaki yapısal ilişkileri incelemektir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırmaya profesyonel kulüp akademilerinde spor yapan 14–18 yaş aralığında toplam 485 erkek sporcu katılmıştır. Çalışmada ebeveyn katılımı, çift kariyer yetkinliği ve spora bağlılık düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla Genç Sporcularda Ebeveyn Desteği Ölçeği, Spora Bağlılık Ölçeği-2 ve Sporcular için Çift Kariyer Yetkinlikleri Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak toplanmış ve analiz sürecinde SPSS 25.0 ve AMOS 24.0 programlarından yararlanılmıştır. Değişkenler arasındaki doğrudan ve dolaylı ilişkileri incelemek amacıyla Yapısal Eşitlik Modellemesi (YEM) kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Analiz sonuçları, ebeveyn katılımının çift kariyer yetkinliğinin tüm boyutlarını ve spora bağlılığı anlamlı ve olumlu yönde yordadığını göstermiştir. Modelde çift kariyer yönetimi ve kariyer planlama boyutlarının en güçlü dolaylı etkilere sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca ebeveyn katılımı ile spora bağlılık arasındaki doğrudan ilişkinin anlamlılığını koruduğu ve çift kariyer yetkinliğinin bu ilişkide kısmi aracılık rolü üstlendiği saptanmıştır. Kurulan model, spora bağlılıktaki varyansın önemli bir bölümünü açıklamıştır. Sonuç: Bulgular, destekleyici ebeveyn katılımının ergen sporcuların çift kariyer yetkinliklerini güçlendirerek spora bağlılıklarını artırmada önemli bir rol oynadığını göstermektedir.

Aim & Scope
Spor Eğitim Dergisi (SED); spor, egzersiz ve eğitim bilimleri alanındaki en son bilimsel gelişmeleri, teorik yaklaşımları ve pratik uygulamaları uluslararası bilim camiasına sunmayı hedefleyen saygın, disiplinler arası ve hakemli bir dergidir.
Dergimiz, spor bilimlerinin çok yönlü doğasını yansıtan özgün araştırmalar için bir platform oluşturarak, akademi ile saha uygulamaları arasındaki boşluğu doldurmayı amaçlar. Açık erişim politikasını benimseyen SED, dünyanın farklı ülkelerinden bilim insanlarının ürettiği nitelikli bilgiyi küresel ölçekte erişilebilir kılarak spor bilimleri literatürünün gelişimine katkı sağlar.
SED; teorik çerçevesi güçlü, deneysel yöntemlerle desteklenmiş veya alana yenilikçi veriler sunan pratik uygulamaları içeren çalışmaları kabul etmektedir. Dergimiz editöre mektup, derleme, araştırma makalesi ve orijinal çalışmaları yayımlar.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Etik İlkeler ve Yayın Politikası
Spor Eğitim Dergisi (SED), yayın etiğinde en yüksek standartları benimser; COPE (Yayın Etiği Komitesi), WAME (Dünya Tıp Editörleri Birliği) ve ICMJE (Uluslararası Tıp Dergisi Editörleri Komitesi) tarafından belirlenen yönergeleri izler.
1. Yayın Etiği ve Kötüye Kullanım Beyanı
Yayın etiği ihlallerinin önlenmesi yazar, editör ve hakemlerin ortak sorumluluğundadır.
Özgünlük ve İntihal: SED, intihal konusunda sıfır tolerans politikasına sahiptir. Gönderilen tüm makaleler, intihal tespit yazılımları (örn. iThenticate/Turnitin) kullanılarak taranır. Kabul edilebilir benzerlik oranının (genellikle kaynakça hariç %15-20) üzerindeki makaleler reddedilir.
Çoklu Gönderim: Yazarlar, aynı makaleyi aynı anda birden fazla dergiye değerlendirme için göndermemelidir.
2. Yazarların Etik Sorumlulukları
Yazarlık: Yazarlık hakkı, çalışmanın kavramsal tasarımına, yürütülmesine veya yorumlanmasına önemli katkıda bulunan kişilerle sınırlandırılmalıdır. Tüm yazarlar makalenin son halini onaylamalıdır.
Veri Erişimi: Yazarlardan, editöryal inceleme için makaleyle ilgili ham verileri sağlamaları istenebilir; yazarlar bu verilere kamu erişimi sağlamaya hazır olmalıdır.
Çıkar Çatışması: Tüm yazarlar, çalışmalarını uygunsuz şekilde etkileyebilecek (önyargı oluşturabilecek) finansal veya kişisel ilişkilerini beyan etmelidir.
İnsan ve Hayvan Hakları: İnsan denekleri içeren araştırmalar için yazarlar, çalışmanın Helsinki Bildirgesi prensiplerine uygun yapıldığını beyan etmelidir. İlgili Etik Kurul'dan alınan onay zorunludur ve bu onayın detayları (Kurul adı, tarih ve sayı) "Yöntem" bölümünde açıkça belirtilmelidir.
3. Editörlerin Etik Sorumlulukları
Tarafsızlık: Editörler, gönderilen makaleleri yazarların ırk, cinsiyet, cinsel yönelim, dini inanç, etnik köken, vatandaşlık veya siyasi görüşlerine bakmaksızın, yalnızca entelektüel içeriklerine göre değerlendirir.
Gizlilik: Editör ve yayın kurulu üyeleri, gönderilen makale hakkındaki bilgileri sorumlu yazar, hakemler ve yayıncı dışında kimseyle paylaşamaz.
Yayın Kararı: Baş Editör, çalışmanın geçerliliği ve araştırmacılar ile okuyucular için önemi temelinde, dergiye gönderilen makalelerden hangilerinin yayımlanacağına karar vermekten sorumludur.
4. Hakemlerin Etik Sorumlulukları
Editöryal Karara Katkı: Hakem değerlendirmesi, editörün yayın kararı vermesine yardımcı olur ve yazarların makalelerini geliştirmelerine katkı sağlar.
Zamanlılık (Hız): Araştırmayı değerlendirmek için yetersiz olduğunu düşünen veya hızlı bir değerlendirme yapamayacağını bilen hakemler, editörü bilgilendirerek süreçten çekilmelidir.
Nesnellik: Değerlendirmeler objektif yapılmalıdır. Yazara yönelik kişisel eleştiriler uygun değildir. Hakemler görüşlerini destekleyici argümanlarla açıkça ifade etmelidir.
5. Sürekli Yayın Politikası
SED, Sürekli Yayın Modeli (Continuous Publication Model) uygular. Makaleler, nihai kabul ve mizanpaj işlemlerinin tamamlanmasının ardından, belirli bir sayı dönemini beklemeksizin tek bir yıllık cilt içerisinde anında çevrimiçi olarak yayımlanır. Bu politika, araştırma bulgularının hızla yayılmasını garanti eder.

Spor Eğitim Dergisi açık erişim politikasını sürdürmek ve hakem değerlendirme sürecinin maliyetlerini karşılamak amacıyla, gönderilen tüm makalelerden Editöryal İşlem Ücreti talep etmektedir.

Gönderim Ücreti: Makale gönderimi aşamasında yazarlardan 250 USD tutarında ücret talep edilir.
Süreç Başlangıcı: Ödeme işlemi tamamlanıp dekont dergiye iletilmeden, editöryal ön inceleme ve hakem değerlendirme süreci başlatılmayacaktır.

I am a football/futsal coach educator and a full-time academic professor with a specificity in neuromuscular and cardiovascular physiology. My current research interests focus on the effects of training load monitoring, exercise recovery intervention on autonomic nervous function, effects of biofeedback training on cardiovascular adaptation, and effects of ageing on neuromuscular function, physical activity and health, and football/futsal sciences.
Prof. Dr. Gözde Ersöz, Marmara Üniversitesi Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmenliği Bölümü’nde öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmakta; spor ve egzersiz psikolojisi, spor yönetimi ve sporda davranış bilimleri başta olmak üzere sporun psikososyal alanlarında uzmanlaşmış bir akademisyendir. Akademik kariyeti boyunca çok sayıda araştırma makalesi, kitap ve kitap bölümü yayımlamış; ulusal ve uluslararası bilimsel kongrelerde 100’ün üzerinde bildiri sunarak alana önemli katkılar sağlamıştır.
Proje deneyimi kapsamında birçok TÜBİTAK öğrenci projesine danışmanlık yaparak lisans öğrencilerinin akademik gelişimini desteklemiş; özellikle Erasmus+ projeleri çerçevesinde sporun sosyal etkisi, kapsayıcılık, antrenör eğitimi ve çocuk koruma programları üzerine çalışmalar yürütmüştür. Bu çalışmalarıyla spor kültürünün gelişimine ve paralimpik hareketin güçlenmesine aktif katkı sunmaktadır.
Akademik birikimini saha ve yönetim deneyimiyle bütünleştiren Ersöz; Türkiye Milli Olimpiyat Komitesi (TMOK) Bilim Kurulu üyesi ve Türkiye Milli Paralimpik Komitesi Eğitim Komisyonu Başkanıdır. Bunun yanı sıra Türkiye Sutopu Federasyonu, Türkiye Basketbol Federasyonu, Türkiye Taekwondo Federasyonu, Spor Bilimleri Derneği ve Egzersiz ve Spor Psikolojisi Derneği bünyesinde kurul ve komite üyelikleri yürütmektedir.
Matthew Muscat-Inglott, MCAST Toplum Hizmetleri Enstitüsü'nde Kıdemli Öğretim Görevlisidir. Enstitüdeki görevleri arasında araştırma yöntemleri konusunda ders vermek, lisans ve lisansüstü araştırma projelerini üstlenen öğrencilere ders vermek ve araştırma yürütmek yer almaktadır. Andy Lin is an Associate Professor at the Center for Teacher Education, National Taiwan Sport University in Taoyuan, Taiwan. His research focuses on PETE and PE curriculum and instruction. He has published works on preservice teacher development and educational policies in sport pedagogy.
