Publication Process

The publication process for articles and translations in our journal is conducted in seven stages: Editorial Board Evaluation, Spelling and Plagiarism Check, Peer Review, Language Check, Copyediting, Layout, and Publication.

1. Editorial Board Evaluation
Prior to the double-blind peer-review procedure, two major assessment mechanisms are implemented in our journal.
The Editor assigns each manuscript submitted for the relevant issue to two Editorial Board Members according to its subject area.

Each Editorial Board Member:
Evaluates the manuscript according to the Editorial Board Evaluation Criteria.
Performs the scoring.
Determines whether the manuscript is suitable to be sent for peer review.
Proposes potential reviewers for the manuscript.

The Editor ranks the manuscripts reviewed by the Editorial Board Members based on their scores.
The Editorial Board determines which manuscripts will proceed to the publication process.

2. Spelling and Plagiarism Check
The Spelling and Plagiarism Officer:
Examines the manuscript according to the Spelling and Plagiarism Control Form, assessing format, spelling rules, and compliance with the ISNAD citation style.
Conducts a plagiarism check via Turnitin and uploads the similarity report to the system. (The maximum similarity rate is 15%.)
Contacts the author to ensure correction of manuscripts that do not comply with the journal’s writing guidelines.

3. Peer Review
Peer review is conducted according to the double-blind peer review principle.
The Field Editor contacts the reviewers recommended by the Editorial Board and sends each manuscript to two reviewers.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscripts according to the Article Evaluation Criteria / Translation Evaluation Criteria.
A manuscript that receives positive reports from both reviewers is submitted to the Editorial Board for a publication decision.
If one reviewer submits a negative report, a third reviewer may be appointed if deemed necessary by the Editor.

4. Language Check

The Language Officer:
Reviews the Abstract and Öz sections of the manuscripts according to the Writing and Language Check Criteria,
Contacts the author to ensure that necessary corrections related to linguistic or stylistic issues are made.

5. Copyediting
Manuscripts are checked by the Copyeditor for proofreading and copyediting.
The edited manuscripts are then sent to the author for a final review.
Manuscripts that successfully complete all evaluation stages are submitted to the Editorial Board.
Even if both reviewers provide positive reports, the final publication decision is made solely by the Editorial Board.
Manuscripts approved for publication by the Editorial Board are moved to the Layout stage.

6. Layout

The Layout Officer:
Obtains DOI numbers for the manuscripts.
Prepares the cover pages.
Updates metadata and the bibliography.
Performs the typesetting and prepares the manuscripts for publication.

7. Publication
The journal issue is published.
