Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

PUBLICATION POLICY AND ETHICAL PRINCIPLES

Scientific Educational Studies (SES) is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal published biannually in December and June within the fundamental field of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training.

The aim of SES is to contribute to theory and practice in the fundamental field of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training, assume a pioneering role in international scientific publications, and be indexed in reputable abstracting and indexing databases. To this end, the publication policy and ethical principles of our journal are outlined below.

PUBLICATION PROCESS AND POLICY

SES has adopted the acquisition, evaluation, publication, and sharing of scientific knowledge through scientific methods as its publication policy. The publication process begins when the author(s) upload the manuscript intended for publication to the DergiPark automation system. No publication fees are charged to researchers for articles published in SES. The copyright of all research published in SES belongs to the journal, and articles may not be used without obtaining permission or providing proper citation.

ARTICLE EVALUATION PROCESS

It is essential that the evaluation process of manuscripts submitted to the SES automation system for publication be completed within a maximum of 60 days, barring extraordinary circumstances.

  1. Initial Editorial Review: The first stage of the evaluation process is the editorial review. During this review, if deemed necessary, the editor grants the author(s) a period of 15 days for preliminary revisions.
  2. Section Editor Assignment: Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial review are forwarded to section editors. Section editors appoint at least two reviewers for the manuscript, send evaluation invitations to each reviewer, and grant a 15-day period to accept the invitation and a further 15-day period for the evaluation. If a manuscript is not evaluated within this timeframe, a new reviewer is assigned through the same procedure.
  3. Double-Blind Review: Double-blind peer review is essential in the evaluation of all research.
  4. Author Revisions: If revisions are requested by the reviewers, this is communicated to the author(s), and a maximum of 15 days is provided for the revisions.
  5. Re-evaluation by Reviewers: If the reviewers request to re-examine the revised manuscript, the section editors resubmit the manuscript to the reviewers, granting a 15-day period for the final review.
  6. Editorial Board Decision: Based on the final decision of the reviewers, the section editors either return the manuscript to the authors or forward it to the journal editor. The editor examines the final version of the manuscript that has passed the review process within 15 days and submits it to the Editorial Board.
  7. Final Approval and Scheduling: The Editorial Board holds the authority to return manuscripts to the author(s), publish them, or publish them following revisions. Manuscripts approved by the Editorial Board are scheduled for publication by the editor.
