Sosyal Mucit Academic Review (SMAR) is a double-blind peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal publishing original scholarly research in the fields of business, economics, finance, organizations, and working life. Established in 2020, SMAR publishes six issues per year in accordance with its announced publication schedule: January, February, March, September, October, and December. The journal publishes articles in Turkish and English. Articles published in Turkish include an extended abstract in English.

SMAR considers research articles, conceptual articles, and review articles for publication. Studies published in the journal are expected to go beyond merely describing existing conditions and to make a meaningful contribution to the relevant literature and knowledge production through conceptual, empirical, methodological, or interdisciplinary contributions.

SMAR’s interdisciplinary publication structure is managed through a field editor model. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are initially assessed with regard to their subject matter, theoretical framework, methodology, and relevance to the journal’s publication fields, and are then assigned to a field editor with expertise in the relevant area. Manuscripts that successfully complete the editorial evaluation are subjected to scientific assessment by at least two experts in the field under a double-blind peer-review system, with due consideration given to the principles of impartiality, expertise, and diversity. Throughout this process, the identities of the authors are not disclosed to the reviewers, and the identities of the reviewers are not disclosed to the authors. Editorial decisions are made on the basis of scientific quality, originality, academic contribution, and peer-review reports.

In its research and publication ethics processes, SMAR takes into consideration the fundamental principles, guidelines, and flowcharts developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal’s scientific and editorial processes are conducted in accordance with the principles of research integrity, impartiality, confidentiality, transparency, accountability, management of conflicts of interest, and editorial independence. Manuscripts considered for publication are expected to comply with the relevant scientific, academic, and ethical standards, and research ethics approvals and related documentation are requested where applicable.

SMAR operates under a fully open access model. The full texts of all scholarly content published in the journal are made freely available immediately upon publication, without subscription, registration, or access fees. Articles published in SMAR are identified by a DOI and are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
