The effect of media on participation in gastronomy courses

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of traditional and social media on participation in gastronomy courses. A phenomenological approach was followed in the research. The participants of the research are 25 people who actively participate in the gastronomy course. While determining the participants, it was acted on the basis of purposeful sampling. The data were obtained as a result of face-to-face interviews with the participants with the prepared semi-structured form. Content analysis was applied to the obtained data. As a result of the research, it is seen that the effect of the media on participation in gastronomy courses is gathered under the main theme of media and sub-themes of traditional and social media. The codes created in the research show that social media has important effects on participation in gastronomy courses.
