Abstract
En hakiki tarih adamlarını muhtelif vechlerden tedkik eden siyerlerdir. Çünkü bu siyerler satır pek vesair üslupla muhtelif şekillerde yazılırlar ve vesair yazanlar vukuattan ziyade meşveretler ile hariçte vaki olan işlerden ziyade dahilde olanlarla meşgul olduklarından daha ziyade etrafı iyi görürler. Bir cemiyeti teşkil eden esasların hali ile münferid bir adamın siyerinde çok fark vardır. Ama ferdlerin cemiyet halindeki siyerleri tedkik olunabilirse o cemiyet içinde vukua gelen hadiselerin esbabı da kolayca anlaşılır. Mamafih her hangi bir şahsın mefkureleri layıkıyla bilinmek suretiyle o şahsın cemiyet içinde yapacağı işler vukua getireceği hadiseler hakkında hükm verilebilir. Bununla beraber şu muhakkak tarih hiçbir vakit hakiki bir ilm olamaz.
