Prof.Dr. Fikret Birdişli
He got a postgraduate and doctorate in research about the Political Science area by thesis on international security policies.
Dr. Birdişli was invited to Coventry University/UK, Center for Peace and Reconciliation Studies (CPRS) for Post-Doctorate research, and awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of International Relations (Security Sciences).
Dr. Birdişli has short time teaching experience at various universities in Belgium, Poland, and the Czech Republic, and presented papers such as countries of Poland, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Qatar, and India.
Birdişli, whose research interests mainly focus on International Security Studies, International Politics, and Turkish Foreign Policy, is the author of five books and over ten book chapters on these subjects.
His latest book, titled Understanding of International Politics Correctly, is about to be published by Seçkin Publishing House, and the book chapter titled "The Effect of Covid-19 on the International Security and Economic Security" is about to be published by Routledge Publishing House in the UK.
In addition to his academic activities, Birdişli has held administrative positions such as vocational school assistant principal, vice dean, and Erasmus institutional coordinator.
Dr. Birdişli is currently the editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Politics and Security (IJPS), the director of the İnönü University Center for Strategic Studies (INUSAM), and the president of the Association of International Policy and Security Studies (INTPOLSEC).
Dr. Birdişli was honored with the Turkish Air Force's outstanding service award and KSU University's academic productivity awards. He has a long experience and international education in the field of Electronic Warfare (EW) theory and practice.
Birdişli, speaks English well and has intermediate-level reading and understanding in Arabic.
He is currently the Head of the Department of International Relations at İnönü University and the Deputy Head of the Department also.
Dr.Birdişli is married and has three children.
Mürsel Bayram received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Selçuk
University, Ahi Evran University and Kırıkkale University respectively. He is currently the Head of the Department of African Studies at the Institute for Area Studies, Social Sciences University of Ankara. He is the author of Une histoire diplomatique des États ouest-africains and Çin-Afrika İş Birliği (China-Africa Cooperation). Bayram is also the editor of the books titled Mağrib Diplomasisi (Maghreb Diplomacy) Afrika Yıllığı 2021 (Africa Yearbook 2021), Afrika Yıllığı 2022 (Africa Yearbook 2022), Afrika’da Politika ve Uluslararası İlişkiler (African Politics and International Relations) and Doğu Afrika’da Siyaset ve Diplomasi (Politics and Diplomacy in East Africa).
Ankara Üniversitesi Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi Uluslararası İlişkiler Bölümü’nde yüksek lisansını “1998 Adana Mutabakatından Arap Baharına Türkiye-Suriye İlişkileri” tezini
yazarak tamamlamıştır. Doktorasını Ankara Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü’nde “Şiiliğin İran Dış Politikasına Etkileri” isimli tez çalışması ile bitirmiştir. İlgi alanları ve çalışma konuları arasında Jeopolitik, Ortadoğu tarihi, Türk dış politikası, etnik, dini, mezhepsel kimlikler, Şiilik, İran dış politikası gibi konular bulunmaktadır. Teopower Olarak Şiilik ve İran Dış Politikası (2021) ve Jeopolitiği Anlamak: Uluslararası Politikalar Yazısı (2022) ve Jeopolitik İstihbarat (2024) adlı üç kitabı yayımlanmıştır. Ayrıca Uluslararası İlişkiler Tahlilleri (2019), Uluslararası İlişkiler Tahlilleri 2 (2020), İran: Bir Ülkenin Akademik Anatomisi (2022), İsrail: Bir Ülkenin Akademik Anatomisi (2023) ve Alanya: Kadim Medeniyetler Kalesi (2023) kitaplarının editörlüğünü yapmıştır. Çeşitli mecralarda makale ve analizleri yayımlanmıştır. İngilizce ve Farsça bilmektedir.
He completed his master's degree at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations with the thesis "Turkey-Syria Relations from the 1998 Adana Accord to the Arab Spring". He completed his doctorate at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences. He completed his PhD at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences with a thesis titled "The Effects of Shiism on Iranian Foreign Policy". His research interests and research topics include Geopolitics, Middle East history, Turkish foreign policy, ethnic, religious, sectarian identities, Shiism, Iranian foreign policy. Shiism and Iranian Foreign Policy as Theopower (2021) and Understanding Geopolitics: Writing International Politics (2022) and Geopolitical Intelligence (2024). He has also published three books, International Relations Analyses (2019), International Relations Analyses 2 (2020), Iran: Academic Anatomy of a Country (2022), Israel: Academic Anatomy of a Country (2023) and Alanya: Castle of Ancient Civilizations (2023). His articles and analyzes have been published in various media. He speaks English and Persian.

In addition to original articles in the field, book and article reviews are also published in our journal.
The Journal of International Relations and Politics (ULIPOD); In line with the determined purpose, it publishes articles, book reviews and book reviews on subjects falling within the scope of international relations, international politics, political history, international law, terrorism and security studies, regional studies, migration studies, diplomacy, political economy, foreign policy and political science.
Anonymous sources that have not undergone scientific scrutiny should not be used in the submissions. All articles submitted to the journal must be original and not involved in any other process.
Papers presented at conferences and published in full text are not accepted. Authors will not be paid royalties. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject articles, request revisions, or reorganize them if they do not comply with the rules.
Authors must prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the layout template using Microsoft Office Word 2016 or a later version. Submissions that do not conform to the template will not be considered for the review process.
Authors are also required to upload the copyright agreement along with their manuscript file to the system.
Submissions uploaded to the system will undergo a preliminary check for compliance with document, information, and format requirements, followed by an editorial pre-assessment.
The text of the work, including everything, must be at least 5,000 and at most 12,000 words, in accordance with the template.
For all works to be published from Volume 5, Issue 2, in 2025 onwards, an extended summary in English, approximately 1,000 words, must be prepared.
