WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOUR ARTICLE?

Van İlahiyat Dergisi – Van Journal of Divinity (VANID) is an academic journal published by Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Divinity twice a year in June and December (Article acceptance dates: January 01 - May 01 for the issue dated June 15; July 01 - November 01 for the issue dated December 15).

No publication fee is charged from the authors.

Van İlahiyat Dergisi – Van Journal of Divinity (VANID) aims to contribute to the national and international literature of social sciences by including articles that theology is in the first place and other related original articles.

General rules
VANID does not publish more than one paper of the same author in a single issue.
The article must have Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Conclusion, Declaration and Bibliography sections. In addition to these sections, Methods, Results, Discussion and Suggestions may also be included depending on the type of the article and the research topic.



Publication Process
The articles sent for publication are go through the phases of of PRE- CHECK, PLAVISORY SCAN, REFEREE EVALUATION and TURKISH-ENGLISH LANGUAGE CONTROL. After the articles submitted to the journal are reviewed and approved by the editor and the editorial board within the framework of the journal's writing criteria, they are screened for plagiarism with various scanning software, especially the Turnitin program. Excluding the bibliography and footnotes, as a result of the search made for the main text of the article, the similarity with other texts should not exceed 20% without citing the source. The work, which does not pass this process even though it has been examined three times during the Pre-Check stage, is returned to the author and is not processed again in the same publication period. Studies that pass the Pre-Check stage are included in the evaluation process in which at least two referees are assigned within the framework of the double-blind refereeing principle. In order for the articles whose peer-review process is completed/referred to be published, they must contain at least 5 words of Turkish/English keywords along with an abstract/abstract of 250-500 words.

Spelling rules can be fulfilled by using the "Title Page Template" and "Article Template" prepared according to the spelling rules of our journal.

Article Submission Conditions
PhD students, as sole authors; Master's students, on the other hand, can send the studies they have written together with their advisors (first author student - second author advisor faculty member) to the journal. In the book review type, only studies written by specialists with doctoral degrees are reviewed.

Van Journal of Divinity is published online twice a year, in June and December. January 1 - May 1 for the June issue; For the December issue, the article is accepted between July 1 and November 1.

The name, institution and ORCID information of the author should be written in accordance with the ISNAD Citation System on the first page of the paper sent to the Van Journal of Divinity.
The upper limit of words for articles and translation works is 9,000, and for other publication types it is 1,500. The permission letter/email received from the publisher of the translated articles should be attached to the application.
In the articles, 250-500 words of Turkish abstract, English abstract and at least 5 Turkish and English keywords should be written.
ISNAD Citation System should be used in citation and bibliography writing: www.isnadsistemi.org
The spelling of the TDV Encyclopedia of Islam should be taken as a basis for the author's name, the title of the work and the writing of the concepts.

The authors fully own the copyrights of their paper published in Van Journal of Divinity and agree to publish their work as open access under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license.
Scientific, intellectual and literary responsibility of the published articles belongs to the authors.



Open Access Policy:
Van Journal of Divinity; Adopting the principle that presenting scientific research to the public free of charge will increase the global sharing of knowledge, it provides instant open access to its content to individual users, and is offered to legal entities for a fee.



Archiving:

The journal is archived electronically by the Editorial Board.




Publication and Evaluation Fee:

Van Journal of Divinity does not charge any fee from the authors for the article evaluation and publication process. No publication fee is charged from the authors.



Ethical Rules
The publication process at Van İlahiyat Dergisi- Van Journal of Divinity is the basis of the improvement and dissemination of information objectively and respectfully. Therefore, the procedures in this process improve the quality of the studies. Peer-reviewed studies are the ones that support and materialize the scientific method. At this point, it is of utmost importance that all parties included in the publication process (authors, readers and researchers, publisher, reviewers and editors) comply with the standards of ethical considerations. Van Journal of Divinity expects all parties to hold the following ethical responsibilities.

The following ethical duties and responsibilities are written in the light of the guide and policies made by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, and the publisher.

1. Publication and authorship:

· List of references, financial support;

· No plagiarism, no fraudulent data;

· Forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal.

2. Author’s responsibilities:

· Authors obliged to participate in peer review process;

· All authors have significantly contributed to the research;

· Statement that all data in article are real and authentic;

· All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.


3. Peer review / responsibility for the reviewers:

· Judgments should be objective;

· Reviewers should have no conflict of interest with respect to the research, the authors and/or the research funders;

· Reviewers should point out relevant published work even if it is not yet cited;

· Reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.


4. Editorial responsibilities:

· Editors have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article;

· Editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they reject/accept;

· Only accept a paper when reasonably certain;

· When errors are found, promote publication of correction or retraction;

· Preserve anonymity of reviewers.

· No plagiarism, no fraudulent data.


5. Publishing ethics issues

· Monitoring/safeguarding publishing ethics by editorial board;

· Guidelines for retracting articles;

· Maintain the integrity of the academic record;

· Not compromising intellectual and ethical standards;

· Always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Duties of the Publisher

Van Journal of Divinity is committed to ensuring that commercial revenue has no impact or influence on editorial decisions. In addition, Vanid will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where this is useful to editors. Finally, we are working closely with other publishers and industry associations to set standards for best practices on ethical matters, errors and retractions–and are prepared to provide specialized legal review and counsel if necessary.

Plagiarism Detection

Van Journal of Divinity uses double-blind review fulfilled by at least two reviewers. In addition, all articles are checked by means of a program in order to confirm they are not published before and avoid plagiarism.

The peer review process is at the centre of the success of scientific publishing. As part of our commitment to the protection and enhancement of the peer review process, Vanid has an obligation to assist the scientific community in all aspects of publishing ethics, especially in cases of (suspected) duplicate submission or plagiarism.

When a reader discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in a paper published in Van Journal of Divinity or have any other complaint about editorial content (plagiarism, duplicate papers, etc.), he/she should make a complaint by e-mail to: vanyyuifd@yyu.edu.tr We welcome complaints as they provide an opportunity for improvement, and we aim to respond quickly and constructively.
