Öz

Date palm is one of the most important species belonging to the Palmaceae family and is home to more than 200 genera and more than 2500 species. Date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) belongs to the Phoenix genus, which has 14 species, mostly ornamental or wild palms, and is cultivated only for the Phoenix dactylifera fruit. Date pollen is obtained from the "fertilization buds" found on the trunk of the date palm. It is a micro seed produced by the male date palm to fertilize the female date palm. It has been determined that date pollen has antifungal, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic effects and contains bioactive components. In this study, the unknown value of date palm pollen is mentioned in addition to its benefits for human health.

Öz

Hurma, Palmaceae familyasına ait en önemli türlerden biridir ve 200'den fazla cins ve 2500'den fazla türe ev sahipliği yapmaktadır. Hurma ağacı (Phoenix dactylifera L.), çoğunlukla süs veya yabani palmiyelerden oluşan 14 türe sahip olan Phoenix cinsine aittir ve yalnızca Phoenix dactylifera meyvesi için yetiştirilmektedir. Hurma Poleni, hurma ağacının gövdesinde bulunan "dölleme tomurcuklarından" elde edilmektedir. Erkek hurma ağacının dişi hurma ağacını döllemek için ürettiği bir mikro tohumdur. Hurma poleninin özellikle antifungal, antioksidan, anti-inflamatuar, anti-diyabetik etkilerinin olduğu ve biyoaktif bileşenleri içerdiği belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada hurmanın bilinmeyen değeri hurma poleninin insan sağlığına yararlarının yanında kullanımlarından bahsedilmiştir.
