Eğitim Programı Teorisine Yeniden Bakış: Taba'nın Eğitim Programları ve Öğretim Alanına Katkıları

Öz

Eğitim programı bağlamında paradigma, teori ve model arasındaki ilişkileri sağlam bir zemine oturtarak eğitim programı teorilerini anlamlandırmak önemlidir ancak alan yazınımızda eğitim programı teorilerine ilişkin yeterli düzeyde kaynak yer almamakta ve teoriler bu bağlamda tartışılmamaktadır. Aksine eğitim programı alanının gelişimine önemli katkı sunan teorisyenlerin eğitim programı teorileri modele indirgenmekte ve bu modellerin dayandığı temellere yani teorilere değinilmemektedir. Bu çalışma da bu ihtiyaçtan yola çıkarak eğitim programı alanı için önemli bir teorisyen olan Hilda Taba’nın eğitim programı teorisini incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu kapsamda çalışmada önce paradigma, teori ve model ilişkisi açıklanmış, ardından eğitim programı teorilerinin sınıflamalarına yer verilmiştir. Taba’nın biyografisi ve eğitim programı teorisi ile devam edilip yine Taba’nın eğitime ve eğitim programına bakış açısı, program geliştirme süreci ve modeli ve Taba’nın eğitim programı teorisinin günümüze yansımalarına değinilmiştir. Son olarak ulusal alan yazının eğitim programı teorisine daha çok eğilmesi gerektiği, bunun için de öncelikli olarak alanın temel kuramlarının uygulayıcılar ve araştırmacılar tarafından incelenmesinin önemli olduğu ve uluslararası düzeyde güncel eğitim programı teorileştirme alan yazınına katkı sunulması için gerekli olduğu vurgulanmış, özellikle Taba’nın kendi zamanında vurgulamış olduğu etken öğretmen rolünün de günümüzde eğitim programları açısından yeniden gözden geçirilmesi gerektiği ifade edilmiştir.

Revisiting Curriculum Theory: Taba's Contribution to Curriculum and Instruction Field

Öz

It is critical to understand the curriculum theories after establishing the relationships between paradigm, theory, and model on a solid basis in the context of the curriculum. However, the literature in Türkiye is scarce in this regard and the curriculum theories are not discussed in this context. On the contrary, the curriculum theories of the theorists who have contributed significantly to the development of the curriculum field have been reduced to models and the foundations on which these models are based have not been adequately addressed. Based on this need, the primary aim of this study was to examine the curriculum theory of Hilda Taba who is an important theorist in the field of curriculum. In this context, at first, the relationships between paradigm, theory, and model were explained, and then the classifications of curriculum theories were included. In the following sections, Taba's biography and curriculum theory, Taba's perspective on education and curriculum, her curriculum development process and model, and the reflections of her educational theory on the present day were discussed. The study emphasised that the curriculum literature in Türkiye should focus more on curriculum theory and examine the basic theories of the field, and that it is necessary to contribute to the current curriculum theorising literature at the international level. Besides, the role of teacher agency, which Taba emphasised in her time, should be reconsidered in terms of curricula today.
