Yıl 2025, Cilt: 12 Sayı: 4, 186 - 202

Öz

In this study, it was aimed to contribute to the literature review processes of future studies by conducting a bibliometric analysis of academic studies that deal with the concept of cultural heritage in tourism. In this context, on 26 March 2024, the keywords “tourism” and “cultural heritage” were searched in the Web of Science database. The results obtained were filtered by selecting the SSCI (Social Science Citation Index) criterion and “all fields”. The data obtained were analysed using the VOSviewer program through author-citation, document-citation, country-citation, institution-citation, keyword, and bibliographic coupling analyses. The top five authors who received the highest number of citations in their studies were identified respectively as Gen Suwa (1678 citations), Greg Richards (1648 citations), Tim D. White (1445 citations), Owen C. Lovejoy (1351 citations), and Berhane Asfaw (1281 citations). The findings of the study were interpreted and bibliometric indicators were discussed. Due to the increasing importance of the concept of cultural heritage in tourism day by day, it is recommended that more academic studies be conducted in this field.

Turizmde Kültürel Miras Kavramını Ele Alan Çalışmalara Yönelik Bibliyometrik Bir İnceleme

Yıl 2025, Cilt: 12 Sayı: 4, 186 - 202

Öz

Bu çalışmada turizmde kültürel miras kavramını ele alan akademik çalışmalara yönelik bibliyometrik bir analiz yürüterek gelecekteki çalışmaların literatür taraması süreçlerine katkı sağlamak amaçlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda 26.03.2024 tarihinde Web of Science veri tabanında “tourism” ve “cultural heritage” anahtar kelimeleri aratılmıştır. Bulunan sonuçlar SSCI (Social Science Citation Index) kriteri ve “tüm alanlar” seçilerek filtrelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler VOSviewer programı kullanılarak yazar-atıf, eser-atıf, ülke-atıf, kurum-atıf, anahtar kelime ve bibliyografik eşleşme analizleri yürütülmüştür. Çalışmalarında en fazla atıf alan ilk 5 yazar sırasıyla; Gen Suwa (1678 atıf), Greg Richards (1648 atıf), Tim D. White (1445 atıf), Owen C. Lovejoy (1351 atıf) ve Berhane Asfaw (1281 atıf) olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışma bulguları yorumlanarak bibliyometrik göstergeler tartışılmıştır. Turizmde kültürel miras kavramının günden güne önem kazanması nedeniyle bu alanda daha fazla akademik çalışma yürütülmesi önerilmektedir.
